truthfully, was just hoping for a super #2 between Stras and Harvey ... with the lotto ticket that they both make it through.

24 bats and 26 arms.  All except one two have appeared in the Majors already.

27 batters & 23 pitchers over here. Coulda talked myself into an extra RP or AAA starter or something. But I've been dissatisfied with my backup SS options for much of the draft, and I added probably two more middle-infield types than I normally would have.

Out of my 50 players drafted, 48 played in the majors in 2016. 41 of the 50 are projected to start the 2017 season with their major-league club (we'll see how that holds up).

C: Yadier Molina, Jason Castro, Kurt Suzuki, Tomas Telis, Kevan Smith

- two starters who should see the bulk of the innings, and Suzuki signed a $1.5 mil contract so he should get a decent amount of time.  Telis and Smith are third catchers who could see some time in the case of injury, but who could also get passed on the depth chart.

1B: Miguel Sano, Joe Mauer, Matt Davidson

- Sano is a 3B, but I have him here because I already had a 3B when I drafted him. Hopefully I'll end up with enough position flexibility (Profar - hi) to figure this out.

2B: Jurickson Profar, Josh Harrison, Ryan Goins

- No idea what Profar's position eligibilities and defense will be, so I made sure to grab another starting 2B in Harrison.  Again, hopefully I'll have some flexibility to manage all this.  Goins is apparently going to be DFA'd, so hoping he lands in a good situation for some ABs

3B:  Manny Machado, Jefry Marte, Renato Nunez

- Stay healthy Manny.  Or maybe Sano plays here.  SO MUCH FLEXIBILITY.

SS:  Aledmys Diaz, Eduardo Escobar, Leury Garcia

-  Escobar could end up the starting SS in Minnesota, or get 200 ABs in a utility role.  Which is the absolute upside for Garcia. Except I just looked him up and I guess he's an OF.  Oops.

OF: Nomar Mazara, Steven Souza, Nick Markakis, Eddie Rosario, Tommy Pham, Ezequiel Carrera, Aaron Altherr, Chris Heisey, Gorkys Hernandez, Abraham Almonte

- This is a really bad outfield, but I expect all of them to make the big league club and five should start quite a bit.  AT BATS!!

SP:  Jose Quintana, Cole Hamels, Hisashi Iwakuma, Brandon Finnegan, Kyle Gibson, Christian Friedrich, Matt Wisler, Mike Hauschild, J.C Ramirez, Zach Eflin, Jon Niese

- Pretty happy with this group.  Six of these guys are basically guaranteed a rotation spot (barring injury) with some decent sleepers.  Stay healthy boys!

RP:  Andrew Miller, Pedro Baez, Ryan Buchter, Edubray Ramos, Corey Knebel, Jason Grilli, Glen Perkins, Taylor Rogers, Heath Hembree, Chase Whitley, Richard Bleier, Ryan Tepera

- After a few established guys I mostly tried to find guys who would get innings, and took a shot on Perkins.  I'm ok with this group.

Roster by position. Bold are likely starters. Italic are likely rostered players.

Catchers:            Willson Contreras, Miguel Montero, A.J. Ellis, Elias Diaz, Kevin Plawecki

First Base:          Edwin Encarnacion, Danny Valencia (3B/OF)

Second Base:     Jonathan Schoop, Jed Lowrie, Kelby Tomlinson

Shortstop:          Marcus Semien, Freddy Galvis, Kevin Newman, Travis Demeritte

Third Base:        Martin Prado, Andres Blanco (2B/SS), Rafael Devers, Colin Moran

Outfield:             Odubel Herrera, Yoenes Cespedes, Hunter Renfroe, Corey Dickerson, Franklin Gutierrez, Hernan Iribarren, Ryan  Cordell

Starters/Swing:  Jake Arrieta, Kyle Hendricks, Jerad Eickhoff, Adam Conley, R.A. Dickey, Charlie Morton, Taylor Jungmann, Adam Warren,   Cody Anderson, Anthony Banda,    Austin Pruitt, Rookie Davis, Hector Velasquez

Relievers:          Mark Melancon, Hunter Strickland, Darren O'Day, Evan Scribner, Brandon Kintzler, Joaquin Benoit, Matt Barnes, Logan                                 Verrett, Yuhei Nakaushiro, Jonathan Papelbon, Simon Castro, Erik Goeddel

Biggest concerns are 3B, although if Valencia gets a handful of ok defensive starts there he'd help a ton; and of course, pitching. My top five are pretty solid but all except Arrieta and Hendricks have big upside vs. downside swings in terms of performance. After that are guys who have issues with health, may be a decent back of rotation guy or just suck and end up out of the rotation and guys that may become long relievers.

and, of course, health.

I like the part where Twins fan Frostillicus, who's watched Kurt Suzuki toil locally for the past three years, rationalizes that his $1.5M contract means he's going to get a lot of playing time.  That's the irrational confidence that built this nation.

Some playing time?

Btw typing this from Arlington City Hall - meeting for high speed rail and intermodal transportation hub.

can I see your house from here @Bogart ?

C: Tom Murphy, Austin Barnes, Jarrod Saltalamacchia, Dom Nunez

- My plan was draft both Murphy and Tony Wolters to lock up both halves of I think will be a fairly even split at catcher for the Rockies, but Wolters was take about 100 picks higher than his fantasy ADP. I think Murphy will hit but probably won't get more than 60% of the ABs tops. Barnes and Salty back up guys who have missed a fair amount of time so we'll see If I end up with enough PAs.

1B: Jose Abreau, Brandon Moss, Tyler Austin

- I have a bunch of 1B/OF types, hopefully Abreau just hits the way he did after his slow start last year and locks the position down. Moss should at least be a decent fall back and hits the opposite side if I need to platoon.

2B: Jedd Gyorko, Jace Peterson, Tyler Saladino, Cory Spangenberg

- Gyorko may end up being primarily a 3B so this may not work out. Spangenberg could end up jumping here, Peterson and Saladino should end up as utility guys.

SS: Addison Russell, Taylor Motter, Brendan Rodgers

- Hopefully Russell takes another step forward this year.

3B: Kyle Seager, Lourdes Gurriel

- Not much straight depth but a bunch of those MI util types will likely get time a 3B. Seager should be steady.

OF: David Dahl, Yasmany Tomas, Leonys Martin, Jon Jay, Jordan Patterson, Brandon Nimmo, Michael Taylor, Scott Van Slyke, Billy McKinney

- Aside from Dahl who is already hurt I hate my starters but love my depth. Moss also likely to figure in the OF mix.

Starters: Yu Darvish, Chris Archer, Robbie Ray, Wei-Yin Chen, Dylan Bundy, Matt Andriese, Chad Bettis, Jeff Hoffman, Kyle Freeland, Antonio Senzatela

- Eight guys who I think are likely to open up in rotations, plus two who could jump in at some point this year. Darvish and Archer should be an awesome 1, 2 combo if healthy and Ray and Bundy are both pretty good break out candidates. Of course we know from experience that 40% of these guys are missing time so the best laid plans and all...

Relievers: Dellin Betances, David Robertson, Carl Edwards Jr., Sergio Romo, Greg Holland, Bruce Rondon, Josh Smoker, Chris Rusin, Vidal Nuno, Oliver Drake, Jairo Diaz, Steven Okert, Jake Diekman, Dillon Gee, Miguel Castro

- 10 Righties, 5 Lefties. A few guys who should be decent multiple innings/swing guys for their RL teams. Betances and Roberson are great closer/set-up tandem if it works out. Most all good K/9 guys.

Suzuki's floor should be about 150 PAs. Tyler Flowers had a nice 2016, but it's hard for me to see him racking up 450+ PAs even as the starting C.

Not sure what Recker's gonna do ... he's got to at least be a better hitter than Suzuki, though. That should earn him some PAs.
