Any chance this guy maybe doesn't want to be out in the mid-July heat screaming at 20-year-olds anymore? I understand the Glazers have a cheap recent history, but they did offer Chip Kelly 6 million and he almost took it. I highly, highly, HIGHLY doubt they are telling Schiano he can't have this guy for an extra 600k a year people.

The Glazers being cheap isn't a crutch you can just always toss around.

Confirming a rumor that began as soon as Schiano was hired, Peter King tweeted late last night that the Bucs have their sites set on Butch Davis for DC.

Now that's a hire I like.

According to a report by FoxSports.com's Alex Marvez, the Bucs hired Butch Davis to join Greg Schiano's staff in Tampa Bay. Davis, who will serve as the team's senior defensive assistant, hired Schiano to coach the Hurricanes defense from 1999-2000 when he was Miami's head coach.

I also saw the Bucs mentioned as one of the likely suitors for FA Mario Williams.....and several FA WR.Is this team actually going to start trying again?!

Yeah, I don't see Butch being an NFL head coach again, particularly as a replacement for a guy that brought him in and he mentored (Greg was Butch's DC in Miami as you probably know).'
