With the #1 overall pick in the 2014 rookie NFL draft, the Detroit Lions select

Jadeveon Clowney, Defensive End, South Carolina

The screams of terror can be heard from Philip Rivers, Jake Locker and loudest from Tony Romo.

So, do we just post the rookie picks here? Is there a time limit?
FUBAR also added his pick in on MFL, and I believe that's what most people wanted as the official pick tracker when this issue arose. There certainly won't be a time limit for the rest of today. Hopefully we can get some information tonight on if the clock starts back up again tomorrow.

Also, do we know anything about Instictive? He has four outstanding picks (two for each team). He posted a few days ago and acknowledged the picks. Do we want to hold the rookie draft until he checks in? If not, what do we do when the Chargers are up and he hasn't checked in?

I assume Nate did for me. I wasn't sure if we were going that route, but agree that we should.

I think timer should go back on tomorrow starting at 8am est.

Just to give everyone a day to see that we are putting the timer back on.

Also I'd say that we should pick on MFL and then also make note on here.

NOTE: From what I'm seeing (after entering some makeup picks), the Panthers still have two outstanding picks and the Jets have one.

With the fifth pick in the rookie draft, the Chicago Bears select Khalil Mack, OLB

I'm relieved to have him available. He was my target at 1.5 from the beginning, and I never really bothered to have any back up plan.

Seattle Seahawks select Mike Evans WR

Given the way this team was constructed when I took it over (we did not have a single WR), I knew we needed to go WR early in the draft. Glad to get Evans here and hopefully he can quickly develop into our WR1. With our power running leading to vertical shots off playaction, I think Evans will have ample opportunities to make plays down the field. With our WR core of Evans, Kearse, Rice, and Thompkins, we certainly aren't done adding weapons.

Since we are tracking the picks on MFL, can someone please ensure that the order is correct? It is still currently in a snake format.

Draft order is updated for even rounds so everything is set.

Timer will go back on tomorrow morning at 8am est (and will run on same schedule as before ---8am est thru 10pm est)

In addition, we still need makeup picks from Panthers (2) and Jets (1)

No worries I'm here making them

Panthers:

Landon Cohen, DT

James Hanna, TE

Chargers:

Darius Johnson, WR

Drake Nevis, DT
Added these picks, but I'm still seeing 1 outstanding pick for Both Chargers and Panthers.

Can you confirm your roster and let me know if there is anyone missing on the MFL page?

I'll put in the SD/CAR picks later when I get a chance I suppose.

Chargers rookie pick: Jake Matthews, OT

New York Giants select Taylor Lewan, Left Tackle from Michigan

With Lewan at LT and Justin Pugh at RT we should be set for the next decade at the offensive tackle positions.

Denver Derek Carr QB

The only QB that actually ran a Pro style offense. His intangibles are high, will be a great leader and locker room guy.

Student of the game, first to arrive and last to leave. All the things you want from a franchise QB.

Rams - Ha Ha Clinton Dix

Had a few options addressing DL and LB, but figured getting one of the best, if not best, safeties would help shore up my weak secondary. Definitely a great piece to build around

You can just make them up right now if you know who you want.

Love the Johny Football pick. I almost took him to learn the game and how to be a pro from Brady. However, I'm all in on Brady and want to give him every possible weapon to win.

Browns choose Marqise Lee.

I wanted Manziel to fall to here once he made it past the top few picks, because I think this offense needs another big playmaker. Instead I'll take Lee and his good run after catch abilities.

Was hoping he'd fall to Tennessee. But, Dennard is the perfect match of BPA and need. Just hope he doesn't have baggage.

Dennard will probably start across from Xavier Rhodes and push Brown / Webster to the slot. But if he doesn't outperform Brown early, he can grow in the slot. IMO, Rhodes / Dennard / Webster make a pretty strong young trio.

It wasn't my most pressing need, but how could I pass up the chance to have Johnny Football learn from Ben at that spot?
Ben and Johnny will have good times together.

FWIW, I probably would have taken him to backup Foles had he fallen further. Just for the value and I think he'd do well in Tennessee.

Not at all position I wa targeting but I couldn't pass on Anthony Barr

I loved my LB group before but now I have an elite edge rusher to add to the mix

Houston 41.25 -

Vaughn Martin = Zack Martin OT Notre Dame

Was either this guy or Mosley and since Mosley is gone easy pick. He was a rock solid LT for 4 years at ND. This creates some much needed flexibility on my OL; giving me the ability to either start him at right tackle and move Derek Sherrod to OG, or to put Matrin instantly in as an OG, where many of folks have him projected as a better fir for the NFL.

Considered, and he certainly is a value. But just needed the corner more.

Barr is just the first obvious player of many that will have a discrepancy between this and the other (real) draft

41.27 Ryan Shazier, LB Ohio St

Top 3 needs were LB, secondary, interior OL. Shazier is a dynamic athlete and will make a nice WLB. I really like my front 7.

The Saints taking Odell Beckham Jr. was a bit of a reach but I knew I was going receiver all the way. I took him maybe a half round too early but there was no way he'd have made it to the second.

The Redskins took the best defensive player available in Dee Ford. It's as simple as that. I was hoping for Shazier or CJ Mosley (to pair with my other CJ Mosley) but Dee Ford is a nice consolation prize.

Jernigan SOD
Thanks. Should make a nice DLine with Clowney, Jernigan, Atkins, Michael Johnson and decent depth.

Wasn't a dire need (Marks and Miller could have sufficed) but we needed to get a DT at some point.

Is the rookie draft not supposed to snake?
The order is correct. It was somewhat controversial, but ultimately we decided that nfl-style was more fair.

Cyrus Gray is a proxy for Cyrus Kouandjio. On my team he won't be asked to contribute right away, so he can get in shape and get healthy.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Pick 29, Jeremiah Attaochu OLB

Given that we are running a 3-4 defense, I see a guy who can step right in as a starter at our weakest position (where Nick Perry was the starter). Seems like an ideal 3-4 OLB and the kind of a guy who may be a little lower on some boards, but edge rushers always go higher than you think. The ability to get to the QB can't be understated. Had a pretty impressive pro-day that showcased the type of athleticism this guy has off the edge.

Also would have considered Shazier had he not been picked two slots before me. Would have been a difficult decision.
