Bulger-Kitna taking too many big hits already (1 Viewer)

Fair & Balanced
Watching the Lions and the Rams yesterday one thing jumped out at me. When the Lions go 4 wide even if Kitna gets the ball away someone has a free shot at him, plus the guy is a warrior and won`t slide leading to many other big hits.

About Bulger, it seemed Bulger was taking a pounding on every throw..the Rams are missing Pace big time right now.

I have both Kitna and Bulger in differeent league..I am not too sure about either one of them being around come playoff time.

 I have both on my team (start 2qb), and while I love the fact that they will each throw the ball 35-45 times a game, their health is a big concern. Kinta showed guts yesterday getting back into the game, I think he will hold up this season. Bulger got smacked around a lot yesterday, and he seems more fragile than Kinta, hope his OL starts to protect him more.

Bulger has one advantage in this situation that Kitna does not have: he's not coached by Martz, so maybe, just maybe his coordinator will give a damn about his health.

I agree but Martz told Kitna about his concussions "When you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness." So Kitnas got that goin' for him, which is nice."

I am not only worried about Bulger lasting the entire season, but also his effectiveness. He had a solid game yesterday, but without Pace I am a little worried about their offense.

I also have Roethlesberger, but would hate to depend on him until I see him consistantly putting up solid stats.

I was looking to take Kitna this year but the way Martz hangs his QB's out to dry I stayed away. Also with Bulger you can have Ferrote as a cheap hand cuff. He may not be as good as Bulger but has always produced as a backup and the Rams system will always be passer friendly.

While I don't disagree that losing Pace is bad, it seemed to me (and I didn't watch the whole game) that a lot of his hits came from the right side. I have them both too and there's no hope for Kitna, but if the Rams start using SJ properly then there won't be as many balls out runs around the corner of the line. Sooner or later the O has to start taking advantage of that.

Any QB that survived a Martz era is most definitely not fragile. He may not have Favre toughness but he hangs in there with the hits

Yes I'm seriously worried about Bulger's health with the pounding he's been taking. At some point he's not going go get up off the carpet. Kitna definitely seems like the better of the two picks so far.. getting him 2-3 rounds later and, although he's getting beat up too.. it's not as bad. Also the Lions are throwing all day and seem to have the Martz offense clicking.

Me too. I thought both would be money this year with all their weapons: Holt, Jackson, McMichael, Bruce, Bennett, Roy, Calvin, etc, etc. Still have time to turn it around.

Reminded me of that part in Rocky 4 when the Russian says, "IF HE DIES HE DIES" LOL. Gawd I hope not, he is my starter
