I know Burress' ankles are bothering him but are they that much worst than they were a month ago to warrant such a low ranking? That's the only explanation I can come up with.
Detroit's D is ranked 30th in surrendering yards and TD's to opposing teams so what gives?

81 yards and 0 TDs in his past 3 games is not exactly a confidence-inspiring stat line. I am struggling with keeping him in my lineup this week ahead of Hines Ward or Chris Henry personally.
#1 - drop in production probably due to nagging ankle injury
#2 - history of starting strong and falling off in the second half of the year
I'm pretty sure ALL of us Burress owners are struggling with whether to play him or not. It's hard to sit a guy who scored 8 TDs in the first 6 games of the year. But the last three weeks have been brutal for him (stat wise) and although Detroit has a horrible pass D, it's VERY possible he will struggle again.
Right now I am PROBABLY going to bench him for the first time this season, but it's a VERY hard decision.

As of now, I'm starting Brandon Marshall and Derrick Mason over Plax. Mason hasn't been lighting the world on fire either, but this is a ppr league. Mason vs Clev match-up might even be better than the Plax vs Detroit. Tough call.
I haven't watched many of the recent NYG games. Is he being pulled in certain packages due to the injury? Or is he on the field most of the time?As an owner, I really have no choice but to keep him in, although with very tempered expectations.
He's always in there - I'm not pulling him unless he has another dud of a game this week. Against the dolphins I think he would have had a good game if it were not for the slip and slide field.
It's not worth the risk to me. He stays on the bench till he looks healthy. I have fitz driver and henry to choose from and I am playin henry and fitz this week. It's also easier to have both me WR in one game. Thats why I am playing Lendale and S. Young :( not really

Over the last three weeks, Mason has had 12, 10 and 5 targets while Clayton has had 8, 6 and 12. Only last week was Clayton looked at more than Mason, but yes, I agree that Clayton is a bigger part of the offense now than he was earlier in the year. And over Plax's last three games, he's seen 6, 8 and 7 targets. By no means do I think that Mason is a clear-cut better choice than Plax this week, but I have not seen Plax be able to separate on deep routes lately...coupled with the fact that the Giants are also running the ball more and not having to play from behind. I don't know, I just like a healthy Mason with this match-up over a gimpy Plax. Might have a change of heart by Sunday morning.
