Buying or Selling Ray Rice? (1 Viewer)

What are people doing? I was lucky enough to grab Pierce, and the Rice owner has been trying to sell Rice. Anyone see any trades with him involved? Wondering what his value is.

Well, here's one small thing to consider about Rice: just read on Rotoworld he's not formally ruled out for Week 4.

Speaking Monday, Ravens coach John Harbaugh said Ray Rice (hip) "could" return for Week 4 against the Bills.
Harbaugh was noncommittal on his star running back's status, further signaling that the Ravens could be planning to hold him out until Week 5. Fantasy owners shouldn't count on having Rice against the Bills. Fill-in Bernard Pierce would have a juicy matchup in the Bills' 31st ranked run defense

Thing is, nobody is selling low (or should be). He has 5 years of RB1 production...I know that I certainly am not giving him away after only 1 missed game (so far).

Owner in my league was asking for Fitzgerald or Spiller for Rice. I'm not crazy about either.

If I had either I would trade for Rice, but Spiller seems like a lateral move at this point 1 for 1 seems pointless.

I drafted Rice, another owner took Pierce way earlier than I ever thought he'd go... I actually inquired whetehr he'd be interested in getting Rice from me. No specific players were mentioned, just wanted to gauge any potential interest. He was luke-warm at best (pretty sure it was posturing). I have no intention of giving Rice away, to be clear. I just feel pretty certain he'll fall vicitm to the annual top 12 RB volatility & was curious to see what I can get.

if the rice owner is panicking i would jump in on that.i would not trade him for anything less than a late 1st / early 2nd round talent depending on need and am not looking to trade him at all. if the rice owner is looking to trade that likely means he did not draft well and was over relying on a 1st round rb starting every week except his bye week and giving him unrealistic numbers every week.

what you would give for him really depends on your needs and depth at alternative positions.

i drafted rice over both of those two for a reason. one good week, one poor week and one missed week is no reason for me to think that the numbers at the end of the year would bear out any differently than my order of them relatively.

Sold him last week w/ Dalton for Newton and MJD (start 2 QB, keep 3, non-PPR)

Pierce, the injury and the poor offence scared me away... and of course Newton is gold in a 2QB league.

I'd take Rice over Spiller.

But if someone is trying to sell, maybe you can do better.
Been mulling over this last night. I just don't like the idea of trading a startable player for a player who won't be startable for at least another week or two. I'm 1-2 after 2 close losses (thanks Spiller and Fitzgerald), and can't afford to lose another.

I may try and see if I can package Amendola instead.

Own him in 2 leagues. i put our feelers in one league, telling other owners he was available...

No offers...But very few if any trades happen in this league..Most owners sign in to set lineups.

Other league.

Was offered - CJ and Gresham for Rice and Witten.

Owner in one of my leagues, selling Rice and Pierce, wants Gordon and my 1st, as a base.......12 team dynasty league

Looks like I just bought Rice for Amendola and Shorts. Already have Fitzgerald and Marshall at WR, and Spiller as my other RB.

cool guess this is your personal blog now!
Although the premise of this thread is going to entail trades and their details, I miss the shtick. Bring it back where applicable please? Thanks.
I dont mind people saying Ray Rice's value. Thats relevant info. Heck someone offered me Steve Smith for him and I declined. But then proceeding to tell us how this helps his team and listing out other unrelated players is cool story bro territory. And this is my shtick and Im sticking to it!
