Call Your Trade (1 Viewer)

In his monday morning QB column, Peter King has said that there is team willing to give up their 2nd in 2011 and their 1st in 2012 to move back into the 1st round to get their desired player. (I am praying that it is not the Vikings)

According to his sources, Peter King has also reported that a team in this draft has already offered the Eagles their 1st for Kevin Kolb but Philly was looking for a higher pick. He later tweeted that team was not Seattle.

I can't hardly wait for the Draft to see if there was any truth to his rumors.
Current rules don't allow player for draft pick trades. So I don't see Kolb moving anytime soon. And there is a chance (very small) that the draft doesn't even happen in 2012. There is no framework for it to legally happen, so how do teams trade future picks when they aren't even protected to exist? Again, not likely. But how do these deals even get done? How are they framed?
I thought the lockout was lifted. ???
Yes, that's true. I think that they may be able to deal players under contract. Still not sure. I read this article this morning and it leads you to believe that a deal could be done, though "not likely". Here is the link: http://www.ibabuzz.com/oaklandraiders/2011/04/28/who-would-raiders-trade-to-get-into-round-1/Apparently it all depends on the 8th circuit court of appeals ruling against the NFL at some point today and suddenly teams are free to deal?

So that is the key for player movement, I think.

Wow. They are cutting it kinda close.

Bengals trade 1.04 (value = 1800) to Washington for 1.10 (value = 1300) and 2.09 (value = 500)Washington selects Blaine GabbertBengals select Julio Jones
If only, yellowdog, if only. But we know Mikey doesn't like to do trades :)I'm call the shot of Houston moving up to #6 in exchange for #11 and #42 and Houston's 4th rounder next year. Cleveland also will give up their 5th-rounder (#136) to complete the deal :)Again Cleveland gets #11 and #42 and a 2012 4th rounder. Houston gets #6 and #136.As for the picks - I think Houston takes Peterson and Cleveland snags Jones.-QG

Assuming Jones makes it this far, Washington trades 1.10 to New England for 1.28 and 2.1.

New England takes Julio Jones.

Washington takes Ponder/Locker with the 1st rounder, and Ayers/Clayborn in the 2nd.

I'm sure the deals are already worked out if this happens. Kolb, McNabb and others would be traded during the draft if it becomes allowed. Someone isn't going to get their QB in that first round, and these guys are both better options in the short term for ARI, MIN, SF, TEN while a 2nd round QB develops.

As far as 2012 picks, I do think there will be trades involving them, but in this uncertain situation they might be devalued more than the traditional 1 round.

Given that they always seem to trade into the future, the Patriots might be a real good indicator if this market has changed and what further deflation has been put on future draft picks.

Pittsburgh trades back from 31 into the second round with someone who wants to jump up and get a QB. Pittsburgh acquires an additional 3rd this year.

A lot of trades involving one of the teams selecting Jones. It should be fun watching to see if it happens.

I wonder if that means there are a lot of FF teams hoping to be able to justify their selection of Jones over Green.

Uggh. That smells like my team.

I'll add one more. If the Bengals trade down from 1.04 to 1.07 to 1.12, then they trade their 2.03 and 4.04 to NE for the 1.28 and take a QB (Ponder or Dalton).

Bengals trade 1.04 (value = 1800) to Washington for 1.10 (value = 1300) and 2.09 (value = 500)Washington selects Blaine GabbertBengals select Julio Jones
Yikes, did Vinnie Cerrato get re-hired by the Redskins? :P I really hope the Redskins find a way to move DOWN in the draft and pick up an extra player. If they could work a deal with someone like New England it would be ideal.

The real question should be is someone other than Mike Brown running the Bengals?

A: Titans (1.08) trade down with the Rams (1.14, 3rd) and the Rams take Jones, Titans take Liuget.

B: Titans (1.08) trade down with the Lions (1.13, 3rd) and the Lions take T. Smith, Titans take Liuget.

Or either trade modified to result in the Titans gaining a 2nd and giving a later pick.

I can also see either with the Titans taking Dalton, but I don't like it as much.

Depending on how many QB's go early, I could see Dallas being in a nice position to trade back with Minn. or Miami.

OR, if Julio is still there, Dallas getting a nice offer from NE or St.L

Dallas to trade back to #14 with St.L. for Julio Jones at #9 to the Rams.

Dallas then takes Anthony Costonzo or Solder as their OT choice
