I'll admit that I don't follow College football until the months leading up to the draft when i evaluate the players coming out. So im hoping some of you who do can help me get an idea of what to expect from this kid. Does he deserve all the hype surrounding him?

He is by far the most Pro ready compared to any QB that will come out this year. He easily would be far ahead of any QB. Bradford was a great prospect and lived up to it, but I think if they were to both come out now Luck would have the higher rank. Bradford was a bit of an injury concern and had the benefit of a powerhouse team where Luck gets most of the credit for the Stanford success.

As far as comparison to any Pro QB I have a hard time with any of the current players. He is a sturdier Steve Young would be the closest close compare for me as far as accuracy, run and mobility, leadership and smarts.

well we've all got another year to take a look at Luck, since he's back at Stanford, but I agree with the assessment that he appeared to be the most pro-ready Qb in this Draft class, and in all likelihood, barring injury, will be the same next year.

I also don't know for sure who I'd compare him to right now. Maybe Carson Palmer when he was taken #1 prior to injuries. He's got a good arm, great accuracy and is very very smart. He definitely makes players around him better but also isn't an egomaniac (that I can tell - who really knows?).

He'd have gone #1 this year - again barring injury, I'd be shocked if he didn't hold that position in 2012 if the #1 team needs a QB.
