WR Jalen McMillan, TB (1 Viewer)

He did all of his damage in the 1st half cause of the blowout. Would have been cool to see more of him but I’m happy for the Bucs.

That screen pass for his 2nd TD last week, and the play he scored on today are the type of routes that would typically go to Godwin. If he stays getting those looks, he’ll have value for the rest of the playoffs.
Good time for him to step up for me, can replace Waddle

I put him in for an injured Pickens this week, thinking of flexing him going forward.

He’s going straight in my line up for the semi finals this week after grabbing him off the wire ( re-draft ). No idea how I’ve survived the merry go round of inconsistency that has been Moore/Flowers/Waddle/Jamo and latterly Thielen in this standard non ppr league.

Ride the hot hand and the QB who is dealing.

You're starting him over Thielen? I'm not sure I'm doing that.

Moore/McMillan/Thielen in flex is what I have right now. Flowers/Jamo/Waddle for varying reasons are way way too hard to predict

Oh you have 3 flex spots?

No. 2 WR and one flex. No 3rd RB on my roster that I’m liking more right now between Etienne/Tracy/Spears ( both Robinson’s starting ).

McMillan just feels like the type of player who is going to end the season on a major hot streak

Does McMillan play the Godwin role ?
Yeah. Just up until the last 2 weeks, he wasn't really much good at it
I don't think he does play that role though, wish he did but I'd have to say that's the role Shepard has been playing.

This also might be part of why McMillan has taken awhile to get going, harder adjustment playing as an outside receiver and running deeper routes.

Considering being a dumdum and starting him over Scary Terry in one league. PHI secondary has been on point.
I wouldn’t do that - Terry is going to be force fed even in a tough matchup
I think you are right, getting cute gets me in trouble. McMillan may end up with better numbers but I should stick with who got me here. Thank you for being the voice of reason.

Just don’t put a hit out on me if I’m wrong - lol. FWIW I’m starting Terry in 2 of my 3 leagues, so I have skin in the game as well.

No worries, I am not that type of dude. I think McMillan will probably put up a good game. However, losing with Scary in the lineup makes more sense than if I were to lose because I kept him out him of the lineup. Good luck this weekend!

Hard to bench Terry but Mitchell has been a legitimate shut down corner and McLaurin had his worst game of the season vs him already.

I mentioned earlier itt, but the rub route he scored on vs LAC and the screen he took to the house vs LV are typically Godwin routes. Even though he’s been playing outside, looks like he’s starting to get those looks.

I do not disagree with the concern which is why I considered McMillan. Going to with Terry however, hopefully he tops his first performance.

That was also when Daniels was banged up, so that might have been part of it.

THIS.

Daniels' ribs were a huge problem for about a month, including the Philadelphia game. I don't think this Eagles game will go the same way as the first. Daniels being able to run changes everything. They will have to pick their poison much more so than the first game. They could potentially still choose to take Terry out of the game, but this time around that would allow Daniels/Robinson to run wild. I expect Terry to get his and Washington to be much more balanced and effective.

The stars are aligned for a big day. I don't have any shares but wish I did.
Baker is probably going to feed Evans in his quest to continue his 1K season receiving streak, but the way Baker is dealing, there should be room for McMillan to eat as well.

I think I'm leaning towards starting him in the flex over Patrick Taylor and Etienne.

I think the Cowboys will roll coverage toward Evans and this will be a coming out party for McMillan.

I'm looking for anyone to talk me out of my way of thinking but I think Otton being out helps McMillan. The Cowboys run defense has been decent the last couple weeks. Spread suggests it'll be a closer game.

I am not excited about it but with Waddle out (not like he wa some great prize), I am going McMill over Odunze. Godspeed young buc.

I went all in mid year in redraft on Tillman and McMillan. Glad one of them paid off. He helped win me a title as a star in my flex spot.

Any TB fans have insight into the Goodwin of it all? Is the team ready to turn the lage on him in light of McMillan's performance in the second half of the season?

I don’t think Godwin is going anywhere unless he wants to.

Today is a testament to how this team treats their players.

Godwin got a 3 year deal after an ACL injury. If he wants to be a Buc he will be.

If Godwin is gone McMillan to the moon, think it's not so simple as Godwin's back if he wants to, I mean to some extent that could be true but he's a free agent so Bucs may not pony up the money to keep him.

Godwin is in a good position to get one last big contract amid a weak FA group and not the strongest rookie crop. Should be interesting.

Much like Brian Thomas, McMillan was in the shadow of a highly drafted college teammate, but may turn out to be the better one.

They can also franchise tag him.

I expect he’ll just sign an extension though. They’ll have plenty of money to do so. He’s their only priority free agent.

Can also expect Baker to sign an extension to free up more.

Good info - thanks. Yeah, I can see them making a push to keep Godwin, but would love to see McMillan have an even more prominent role next year. Might be tough with Evans and Godwin still hanging around.

Lot of "what ifs." I do think you're right though that if they're all back together then McMillan's piece of the pie will certainly be smaller. May be an ease in situation for Godwin too coming back from injury. And does Godwin's return move McMillan back outside? He's much more suited inside.

Also, is Coen back? His system is mostly 3 WR sets.

Mike will be entering the last year of his deal. I don't think letting Godwin go would be smart.

I am very certain Godwin will be back. Bucs are in their window now, you aren’t going to let a guy like that get away and they can actually reduce their cap space by re-signing him. No-brainer.
