Calling out the commisioner (1 Viewer)

Long time listener first time caller...Had my second round playoff game yesterday against the commisioner (a good friend) and I noticed some foul play. Had my kids baptism at the same time as the games so I texted him asking him to give me updates of our scores. When I had a chance to check scores I saw that I was in trouble and that he started rice, mcfadden, and charles and benched hillis which seemed seemed a bit off so I checked his line up changes. According to the log while logged in as commisioner made 3 lineup changes during the games. his starting lineup was...Manning, Peyton IND QB, Charles, Jamaal KCC RB, Hillis, Peyton CLE RB, McFadden, Darren OAK RB, Britt, Kenny TEN WR, Garcon, Pierre IND WR, Davis, Vernon SFO TE, Graham, Shayne NEP PK, Patriots, New England NEP Defand after some changes he ended the day with a winning team of...Manning, Peyton IND QB, Charles, Jamaal KCC RB, McFadden, Darren OAK RB, Rice, Ray BAL RB, Britt, Kenny TEN WR, Williams, Mike TBB WR, Davis, Vernon SFO TE, Graham, Shayne NEP PK, Patriots, New England NEP Defhow have you guys handled these kind of situations? this league is a no money league made up of friends and we have been playing for 6 years now. i don't want to blow up the league but this would have been my first trip to the big game and it doesn't sound that fun to play when you know strings are being pulled.
I'd show up at his door and punch him right in the face...in front of his wife and kids :lmao:

inall seriousuness you should probaly take a lot of screen shots and then call him and say man it's just not worth it to sell your soul to the devil by lying over a no money fantasy football league and then see if he somehow thought he could make money by cheating and if so then ask what he has going on and if times are that tough and maybe try to help him out during the holiday season and i bet he'll change the score back and you will both become better friends and you'll be a beter person for helping him out in hi s time of holiday need and thats some good karma right there big buddy.

Seems odd that someone would bench a guy coming off a 2-TD game (Garcon). I'm sure some have the luxury of doing so, just seems unlikely someone would happen to bench him for 2 guys coming off subpar Week 14's: Mike Williams (1-14) and Kenny Britt (4-39).

It seemed even odder to bench Peyton Hillis against the 21st ranked rush defense. When I asked him about it he said "figured his hot streak was winding down and they weren't competing for much anymore.."

I decided to send him a email asking what was up with the roster moves during the game. He claimed that the moves were placed via cell phone app before the start of the game and he was just lucky that all of the moves were great (mcfadden for rice @ 12:30 central, garcon for mike williams @ 12:45, and then hillis for mcfadden @ 2:45). I looked back through the season and saw many similar moves. Not sure what my next move is going to be but I don't think he is ever going to admit the foul.

thats totally bs call the internet ff site and ask if that makes any sense i bet it doesn't what a bunch of crap he is a liar and you should probablysever all ties with him guys like that can only lead you to trouble and upset your chi

That is pretty obvious that he cheated. I've never used a cell phone app to set a line up, but I highly doubt it would leave incorrect timestamps. I might buy that excuse if the timestamps were all the same, as in every time stamp said 12:30, or within a minute of each other, but all three time stamps are off by quite a bit. It's not a money league, so it isn't something to lose a friendship over, but whether he admits it or not, he pretty obviously cheated. How you should handle it depends on if it affected the outcome:1. If you would of won had he not made the changes, then you should post a message on your league message board about it. Include a direct link to the page that shows the timestamps, and below the link copy and paste the lineup moves in question. And if you really care that much, use the previous lineup changes to support your case. Then tell him to man up and change it back or you won't be in the league next year.2. If the outcome would of been the same had he not changed his lineup then I would still call him out on the message board, just to let everyone else know that he is doing that. But in the post you should acknowledge that you know the outcome would of been the same (this is mainly so that he can't use it as a defense/excuse)3. If you have bench players that outscored your starters, and would give you enough points to win, make a message board post calling him out and tell him you want to do the same thing and sub in "bench player 1" for "starter 1"So ultimately, make a message board post. If you should of won, make a bigger deal about it. If you would of lost regardless of the lineup changes, don't make as big a deal about it. But at the very least you should alert the rest of the league that he is doing that.

Does he have to be logged in as commissioner to make these "via cell phone app" changes?

Anyone do the research (or remember) how good/bad a game the players in question were having at the time of the 'delayed cell phone' moves?

Sounds to me like he's been doing this for the entire season and since no one noticed, kept on doing it. Perhaps he didn't know there was a time stamp and finally got caught, or perhaps he did know but didn't think anyone else did, and had the "cell phone app" excuse ready just in case he was caught.Either way, I would let him know his explanation doesn't sit well and that you will have to think about whether you will play in the league again. At the very least, you should make sure that lineup changes by cell phone are backed up with a text or email if the service is that bad that it delays updates for hours.

He's cheating. Some people are just lifer D-bags. Find another league. If you really want to stir up some #### and call him out, share your findings with the league. The cell phone excuse is bogus.

Worst excuse ever. He deserves the public ridicule you are surely going to give him.

What site are you using? This cell phone excuse makes no sense to me. Even if it did happen the way he says it did, I don't understand how the time stamp would reflect a later time and the change be allowed to occur since the site would see it as happening after players were locked. It sounds like it is only because he is the commish that it accepted the changes and other owners wouldn't have the same ability to make the same changes since even if they did make it and there was a delay with the site, the site wouldn't accept the changes ... commish should not have an advantage simply because the site sees him as the commish. I don't believe for a second that it did happen the way he says it does but I would bring up that even if it is the case, his players would be locked if it was anyone else so only changes that were time stamped before the start of the games should be permitted for the commish.

Our league commissioner picked up players using his commish ID before the free agent period opened. He said he forgot what the deadline was, it seemed like an honest mistake so we let it pass but now he only uses his non-commish ID for pickups and lineup changes etc. Not all websites may have a player ID and Commish ID separate but this does help.

Time to send an email to the league and call him out publicly.
