So a little surprised to see zero buzz in the Pool about Newton. I know he will struggle with his passing and wouldn't surprise me to see him hover at 50%, but I don't get points for 100 QB ratings. I do get points for rushing and TDs though.

Seems to me that Newton could be a viable QB2 with upside only putting up 150/1 passing if he can supplement that with rushing yards.

Looking at the WW, I don't see many QBs with more fantasy upside. I made sure to roster him in both my leagues just in case he explodes onto the scene in week 1 rushing for 100 and a pair of TDs.

Just strikes me as a great flier and could be the talk of the NFL and FF come Monday morning. Any Carolina homer thoughts ??

Picked him up last night along with Rex Grossman. Couldn't decide which one to pick up so I ended up going with both (my starter is Freeman). I kind of expect one of them to emerge as a decent FF starter. Am kind of high on Grossman (3 of 4 300 yd games since becoming starter last season)but felt that Newton has a chance to be special based on rushing yds and goal-line TD's.

If you need a QB and he's out there why not take a shot?

Personally, I think defenses will figure him out some and he'll come down to earth, and maybe even have a handful of stinkers.

Got him as a throw-in in a trade a few weeks back in one of my dynasty leagues, from an owner strong at the QB position. I'm very happy about that now.

Newton will certainly put up good numbers against some defenses but good luck figuring out which weeks to play him........and he doesn't play AZ again this year

I grabbed Vick off waivers this time last year. Hoping to strike lightening in a bottle 2 years straight. Obviously not saying Cam = Vick with 1 game example, but the "defenses will figure him out some and he'll come down to earth, and maybe even have a handful of stinkers" statement(not just from you Manster), haters are still saying that about Vick.Worth a shot.
