Camille Paglia: What Will Those Wacky Kids Think Of Next? (1 Viewer)

If only it was possible to look at  more than one problem at a time.

if only...
Of course it is, man. But the juxtaposition of the issue of the day is awesome on her end, and entirely logical.

Her thoughts, as a lesbian artist, are worth hearing, and for a reason.

And If she was a lesbian accountant or a straight artist?
Um, that was my point.

I was making sport of identity politics. What if she was a straight Phyllis Schlafly.

It's Tom Wolfe.

As soon as you say..."as a [blank]" you're getting into impossible identity politics.

It was in Mauve Gloves, Mad Men, Clutter and Vine.

Thanks, man.

Have a good day, bro. I've been doing this years.

I think there are authentic transgender people who had a genetic issue from the start, but they are a tiny, tiny minority of the population, and medical science is still developing to help these people. But now it’s become a fashion statement, or a mask [for other problems]. People are being induced to think that all their unhappiness -- in family life, in school, in relation to society – is to do with this gender issue.
Really?  Maybe I'm just not that cosmopolitan and I live in the middle of nowhere, but I never interacted with anyone that saw their situation like she does.  I'm sure she's smarter than me, but calling it a fashion statement is pretty heavy handed.

"people are being induced to think that all their unhappiness is to do with this gender issue" sounds like a Scientology recruitment pitch.
