Can Darius Walker go back to Notre Dame ? (1 Viewer)

Went un drafted and I am not certain he signed with an agent. I know a Basketball Player did this a few Years at kentucky - Randolph Morris. Just wondering if anyone knew if this would be possible or if it is just wishful thinking of a ND fan ? ? :goodposting:

I dont know but he received some terrible advice. If an agent told him he was going to be drafted that agent needs to be investigated.

I am a Michigan fan but it sucks he got screwed over by someone!

Always happens to someone. Greg Lee got horrific advice last year. Undrafted and then got picked up by Arizona. He'll never see the field.

I disagree, he was losing his qb and some linemen and he did about all he was ever going to do in college. Also he rushed for over 1,150 yards in each of the last two seasons meanwhile even if you combine chris henry's rushing totals from his three plus years at arizona you'd get less than 1,150 yards and he was still a 2nd round pick. You just never know how much the nfl will value a guy.

I don't think the NFL is like the NBA where someone can go back if they don't like where they are picked (or don't get picked at all).

CorrectThe NFL is NOTHING like the NBA in regards to college kids; the draft; being drafted and being able to keep eligibility and I agree with JM4Steelers. Someone gave Walker some very poor career advice or someone did the kid a tremendous disservice by not being honest with him about his prospects/potential in the upcoming draft. Blue chip program...Pro Style offense...playing for alleged offensive guru...highly productive in said Pro Style offense....goes undrafted and signs a FA contract. Another year of school would have potentially helped Walker avoid this situation and, perhaps, see him finish his education and prepare himself for life after football. You do not just accidentally fall out of the draft into FA status. Not if you are carrying the football for Notre Dame with any level of weekly proficiency. There are those rare instances where it happens but it is the exception not the rule. This could or should have been avoided.

Unless another year of college would've somehow made Walker run faster, I don't think it would've helped his stock in the NFL Draft.

My son was a Domer and we watch all the ND games. It was obvious to us that he would not be of much value in the pros. He has no speed. His main ability was dump off passes. And small stature. The word is that Weiss told him he would be sharing carries with the new ND recruits.

He can go back to ND, but he can't play ball. Once you declare for the NFL draft your college playing days are over.

Welcome to the Arena Football League Mr. Walker. You'll find the wall as friendly as your temporary teammate Mr. Benson.
