Over 50% would say yes...I mean it's possible but not likely IMHO. Green Bay would be at home and they have lost very few games there in the history of the franchise.

Very few indeed. Hi Mike Vick!

If these teams meet at GB in the NFC Championship game, I think a fair line would be GB -7. I think the actual line due to GB's popularity, etc would probably be -9 or maybe even -10. If the weather is very poor, the 49ers gain an edge. Their running game is quite good, and GB's run defense is a weak point. If SF can successfully slow down Rodgers, and they can burn some clock with their run game. I can see them maybe pulling the upset off.

Um, if Alex Smith is going to start leading heroic 4th quarter comebacks, the 49ers are going to win the Super Bowl. Period. That's the only thing this team really lacks - a franchise QB. If you are going to tell me that Alex Smith is going to start acting like one than nothing can stop them.

We'll just have to see if Smith can keep doing that.

Put it this way, if I took any one of Rodgers / Brees / Manning / Brady and put them on this 49er team, they would universally be recognized as not just the team to beat, but the scariest team we've seen in years.

:goodposting: OTOH I don't see the Packers turning the ball over twice, never mind five times.

I think the sharp money goes on SF with 7+. The question is, do the sharps hammer it when it opens or do they see how far the squares push the line the other way.

How about we wit for todays game before we bring up old posts

Personally, as a packer fan, i am pretty concerned about just getting past the giants

The 49ers played the Saints great at home and deserved the win however the result would have been quite different had the game been in the Superdome. Likewise I do not see them winning in Lambeau. I hope I am wrong and will gladly eat my crow if the 49ers win. I am pulling for them from here on out.

Absolutely not. It's a joke they're in the playoffs and could only beat the Saints by a few points even though they were the beneficiary of 5 gift Saint turnovers.

They won't have such luck against the Packers. Enjoy your day in the sun Niner fans. The fluky ride ends next week.

the real question is can the packers beat the 49ers? according to the sharkpool the saints were the best team in the nfl and the 49ers just embarrassed them.

Who is your team?

I think the level of excitement in the Bay Area and among the Niners about a 13-3 team winning a playoff game at home is way too high. There was lots of talk last night about this being a historic win, akin to The Catch. The Catch happened when a team that had never done anything beat one of the NFL's reigning dynasties to make the Super Bowl. Yesterday's game was exciting, but the result is only what should have been expected. My prediction is that the team isn't in the right mental state about it and they're not prepared to beat the Packers on the road.

Yesterday's TD resembled the Young to Owens TD more than the catch. Eerily so, really.

I don't have "a team" per sae. I'm simply a knowledgeable football observer telling it like it is. That tends to ruffle the feathers of those that are content to guzzle Bud Light and cheer on "their team".

If it's snowy, cold and windy in GB next week, the 49ers will smoke 'em. The Packers will be the team that will need luck.

:lmao:

Yeah as a Pats fan you're praying you get to face the Niners rather than the Packers or Giants.

This of course assumes you can get past the Texans/Ravens which I'm not certain you can get past either.

Your fear of the NFC teams is evident.

Sorry, I missed the part of the post that said Pats Fans aren't allowed an opinion. It's a fact bro. In cold, snowy, windy weather, I'll take the team that has a great defense and can run the ball over the team that can only throw it.Of course that probably means I have a fear of spiders, or something else ridiculous.

Uh, the way the game is going right now, the 49ers will get to stay home and play the Giants.

Butthurt thread.

The 2 special teams TOs were gifts but the 2 picks and pierre thomas's fumble were very well earned, so no, you're not really telling it like it is.

Nothing embarrassing about losing to a higher seeded team on the road , as close as that game was. Actually some of the 49er fans had already headed for their cars thinking their team was done. I do think the 49ers beat the Giants though. Eli has nothing on the Saints offense.

Who just happens to show up in NO/LSU threads and without fail, sides with apologists of those two clubs. Other than that she is as neutral as Switzerland.

Packers look very flawed but 49ers havent been the same def without justin smith. If justin smith plays and is healthy i dont see the pack beating them. Without smith its a tossup.
