Can you plow the field at halftime in the NFL....? (1 Viewer)

can you....should you...be able to plow the field at halftime....or should you play "as is"....

could make a huge difference

I don't know the answer to the question in specific, but I know in general it's illegal to snowplow a field during the game (not sure about between halves/quarters). I think it's dumb that it's illegal for a team to use a snowplow between plays/timeouts for their purposes. IMO that should be part of the home field advantage. As long as it doesn't delay the game, what's the problem?

it doesn't look like they did in philly....and if they can why wouldn't they.....

anyway....I would think you have to play "as is",,,i can understand plowing the goallines, etc....but the field itself, not so much....

I guess the NFL could fall back on "player safety" if they did plow....but 6 inches of snow might be better then an icy field...

philly should have plowed with their offense...

would seem plowing the field could really give a team an advantage/disadvantage...

rene philly game...pereria just said you can't clear field

Shouldve been allowed to at half....another crappy NFL rule. Philly game is a brutal watch with snow over their ankles
After brief thought I think the rule makes sense.

If you let the home team's field crew alter the field... then trailing they are going to plow the field. With a 21 point lead they could leave the snow out there, or claim their snow blowers broke or do a half-### job of it anyway. Better to take that out of the equation.

Hahaha....you always disagree with me. I just wish they had the option

What's wrong with the scenario you describe?
