Cancer, CurlyNight's Journey (1 Viewer)

Thanks BrassNBrew. Appreciate it! I'll update my thread over at what's know as the closet with the happs tomorrow after I see the surg.

For those who aren't following me on that board where I'm not only posting updates et al but good info I find that seems to help not only cancer pts but non as well, thought I'd share this here. For example, many swear by this "soup" for severe fatigue:

(1) increase fluid consumption to 4-5 litres a day, normally after every meal and when feel lips getting dry. Have to keep hydrated at all times.

(2) Make 1.5 litres of green bean soup (no sugar, beans discarded). Boil it until the soup turns green (not brownish), crush the beans, and discard it. Then take it with you to chemo and drink it in between infusion. According to TCM (traditional Chinese medicine), green bean soup helps to detox the body.

6.5 loooooooooong hours before surg's appt!

Consultation or actual surgery today ?
Consultation. Meet Mr. eye candy at 2:30 PT for first time. I have an appt for radiation onc tomorrow am, so unless I have to wheeled in asap, I don't see how the sx will be next week. You go through pre-op testing and have to attend a class held by an onc nurse on what to expect/get questions answered, etc. I expect though since it is known to be very aggressive that sx would be the following week.

Thanks Judge! Sleep patterns are way off. Everyone and their 3rd cousins are dead asleep in CA while here I sit. I updated that thread but not a ton of info other than more appts/tests and my next visit with Dr. eye candy is 6/23, so definitely no surgery before then. Good and bad. Good cuz it'll be more misery than I am now with pain/dizziness/fatige going on, bad in that let's get this show on the road. The waiting... and then the waiting... :loco:

Thanks for the find. It found 75% of pts taking a daily dose were still alive 5 years after being diagnosed with bowel, stomach, pancreatic and throat cancer. Maybe that's why I haven't heard of this for my situation as I'm a breast cancer patient. I'll post this link in my journey thread as it's good for people with those types of cancers to ask their docs if something like aspirin could help them. Thanks again. :)

Second bullet says: Findings back up numerous studies showing aspirin helps keep prostate, breast and lung cancer sufferers alive

I take a baby aspirin as a preventative for heart issues. If it may help prevent cancer

Oops. Didn't scroll beyond the pic and thought it ended there. That's what happens when you are stressed with an infection where you were in the hospital for 5 days and now home on picc line IV anitbiotics-- hoping you don't lose you tissue expander implants. :/

Thanks for the heads up. I'll modify my post in my journey thread. Just need to be careful for even with low dose 81 mg aspirin if you have bruising or thinning blood issues or on blood thinning meds and some herbs, it wouldn't be advised to go on it. Always check with the doc before doing even something otc that seems ok and safe enough to do. :)

Eh.. It's understandable. This all isn't that big a deal so no real reason to spend the 4 mins to read beyond the headline before responding here.
