Capers re-signs on as Dolphins Defensive Coordinator (1 Viewer)

sounds like the next head coach will be a young offensive minded coach (Brian Schottenheimer maybe?)
So he signed, re-signed, or resigned? Which is it?
 The title sucks. As for the news story, it's bizarre to me that the D-coordinator is hired before the head coach. :D
I was thinking the same thing yesterday when I seen this story. Coaches usually get to pick their staff. They must be looking for a young guy who is going to be on a short leash.

Or maybe they've already decided on their head coach and haven't announced it for some reason. Likewise, it wouldn't surprise me if the Rooneys told potential candidates that **** LeBeau will be the defensive coordinator of the Steelers next season.

How old is Cameron? Tomlin and Schottenheimer could both use an experienced coach to bounce ideas off of.

Doesn't he have plenty of friends in the Steelers organization?

I don't think this narrowed their list much at all.

Capers did a good job last year with the D and I'm glad they brought him back.

I think this definitely points to a young offensive coach. Dolphin boards are buzzing that it will be Brian Schottenheimer who's coming in for his 2nd interview on Monday or Tuesday.

If San Diego loses today and axes Marty he could be an option as well for the Dolphins with Brian taking over the offense.

Interesting...

The owner is gonna saddle the new coach with the D-coordinator of his choice.

Same thing happened to Ditka when he signed on as the Bears head coach, as the players petitioned GM Jim Finks and basically Ditka was forced to keep the defensive staff.

So I agree... they're definitely gonna hire an offensive minded coach.

But why is Huizenga up in Atlanta interviewing Jim Mora Jr. then?

This doesn't make sense. Why would a coach go to the Dolphins with that just happening?
Because they already have a top notch DC and he wouldn't have to find one? I assume this locks up an O coach.
