**Cardinals at Packers** (-5.5, 47.5) 1:00 (1 Viewer)

Arizona is not as bad in Pass Defense as many think, 3 of the last 4 weeks they have been below their season avg for FF allowed to WRs,
Don't assume this wild shootout is going to take place, I have some doubts.

Green Bay is pretty decent vs the run and I think they will turn Arizona into more of a 1 dimensional team than they would like to be.

This is another Dog of the Week nominee and I don't believe the game is a Dog at all, but I also thought the Jags might be competitive today

I don't think Green Bay is quite as good as some think and they have a lot to fill in offense still
Taking the point on this one

Green Bay 24...Arizona 23 and a Cards win won't totally be a shocker here

Offense looks OK to me so far

Agree

Well that's game. Such a huge swing. Cards about to get the ball in almost red zone position to letting up a big TD the other way. Brutal.

Is peak Love >> than peak Burrow? I'm leaning that direction.

Edit: should probably rephrase. I think we'll see peak Love more than peak Burrow, probably by about 4 games a season.

Is James Conner hurt? Looked a little gimpy in the first half at times, have not seen him in second half, watching several games so asking if they mentioned it and I did not hear it?

Forget it I see now.
Ruled out now. Ugh
I guess this was fake news as he is now in the game…
And then he fumbles. Just a brutal day with injuries and now losing points (great for my real time but sucks for my ff teams today)

Packers 34
Cardinals 13

-The Packers are getting a better return on their investment at QB vs what the AZ Cardinals have seen with their dollars at QB
Love vs Murray, which Quarterback would you rather have? Is Jordan Love living proof that QBs should mostly sit and carry a clipboard their first 1-2 seasons in the NFL?

Him and Mahomes and Rodgers, maybe.

The problem is that most first-round QBs, especially those taken in the top 10 or 15, are drafted by bad teams that need immediate help, and/or teams that want to make a run while their starting QB is on a rookie contract and they can load up at other positions. The mechanics of the modern NFL don't allow for the Packers/Chiefs approach much. Rodgers and Love were both late first-rounders drafted for the express purpose of sitting behind the starter for a bit, and the Chiefs were a good team with an OK starting QB that traded up to get Mahomes.

We'll see how this plays out in Atlanta with Penix.

Its probably too early to judge Love, but as to your ultimate question I think its really hard to anoint one or another approach to the QB position as best across the board. Every QB and team situation is different. We know that the prior GM in Green Bay was vilified for drafting Rodgers and the current one was similarly ridiculed for drafting Love - in each case with an MVP QB on the roster at the time. If either hadn't panned out, that would have surely been deemed "living proof" that its a stupid approach to finding a franchise QB. The Bucs and Rams are recent examples of the opposite approach working. Both were able to acquire a veteran plug-n-play quarterback through FA or trade and it delivered a Lombardi. Other teams have had great success in recent years running a rookie out there and letting him learn on the job. Obviously, there are also many examples of failure in all of these approaches.
