Carolina will beat the Cardinals by 10+ points this weekend (1 Viewer)

As a Cardinals insider i can tell you that the Cardinals do not match up with Carolina well

The Cardinals will not be able to stop or contain Carolina's ground game, and Carolina will undoubtedly use it to set up the play action pass/ home run ball to Steve Smith early and often, while Arizona will struggle to run the ball, thus being forced to become one-dimensional and throw the ball every down

The Cardinals are also a completely different team on the road then they are at home, so last week's victory over Atlanta is no barometer of the Cardinals playoff success

final verdict:

Carolina rolls to an easy 31-17 victory

Yeah, I don't see the Cardinals beating the Panthers AT Carolina (especially since Carolina is undefeated at home this year). But hey, they did a fairly decent job against Turner last week. Well, at least he didn't blow up for 3 TDs or anything like I expected him to...

I'm a Panther homer, and I have to say I'm not as optimistic as others may be. They are not playing any defense right now. They almost blew a 21-point fourth quarter lead against the Saints. Got torched on the ground by the G-men, got torched by Antonio Bryant and his 200+ yards last month. The defense looks awful. Remember the Cards gave the Panthers fits in the first meeting of the year only winning by four. They even had to come back in that game. For anyone who says nobody on the Cards can guard Smittee, I'd counter that by saying nobody can cover Fitz and Boldin. If Boldin does not play, I'd feel better about winning by 10+ points. I expect this game to be closer than the experts think.

Panthers 28-Cards 24

The Panthers D is not what you expect from Fox. I almost like Arizona in this game. They're coming East but this is the playoffs. I wouldn't take either side but no way I'm sold on the Panthers this year.

:football: I think the defense is a concern for sure. With that being said I expect them to win by double digits anyways. I think the defense will elevate their game and I think Warner will implode. I still don't buy into the Cards having any threat of a running game and I don't see Warner lighting them up with Peppers and co. in his face all day. On the other side of the ball I'll believe the Cards can stop the Panthers running game when I see it. Panthers 37-16

I understand your reasoning and it wouldnt surprise me at all if what you said happens, but if we stopped the Falcons running game, why do you think the Cards couldn't stop Carolinas? I'm not saying that just cause you stop one team, you can stop another team, but why is it that you think we will not be able to stop or contain them? The Cardinals Lb's, aruguably had their best tackling game of the season last week. Turner had absolutely zero running room after first contact. Again, it wouldn't surprise me if Willams and J-Stew run wild, but I don't really see the defense taking a step back and being satisfied after last week. Also, Cromartie is playing his best football of the season and while probably noone can cover Smith one on one, the coverage will be better than it was the first time they played. And also, the Falcons allowed 127 rush yards per game in the regular season, while the Panthers allowed 120 per game. They are both in the bottom half of the league with that. Edge has been decently successful these past few weeks, what will change this week? Again, not just sayin you will be successful cause you did it the week before, just curious as to why you think the run game will be any different than it was last week. It's easy to pick the Panthers because of 'Match-ups' and the Cards road woes, but with a playoff tested Warner and Edge, the freakish ability of Larry Fitz, and a defense, that when focused, is very oppurtunistic, I definitely wouldn't count this team out before the game rolls around. But for all I know, Panthers will probably win in a blowout.

I'm taking the Cardinals in this one. Sure it was way back in week 8, but the Cards had a 14 pt lead in Carolina and managed to give the game away through a bad fake FG attempt, a missed XP, turnovers, and a miracle tight rope TD from S Smith.

The big X factor could be the weather as it looks like it might rain on Saturday. Barring a messy weather event, i think the Panthers come out flat and the Cards are motivated enough to win 27-20

Hey, this is BassNBrew's schtick. Last time the Panthers made it to the Super Bowl it was because, legend has it, BNB and his weekly reverse-kibosh. It didn't work in the SB, though.

And it's not going to work for you!

On the East Coast, the Cards went 0-5:

17-24 @ WAS

35-56 @ NYJ

23-27 @ CAR

20-48 @ PHI

7-47 @ NE

Throw out the New England game due to weather and the telling games are vs Jets and Philly.Having said that, limitations of Carolina's defense will keep this within 10.

Carolina's O-line is much stronger than Atlanta's, IMO, which is why I think Dwill and stew will fare better than Turner did.

Any other things I should know before next week?

LOL.... Lose the brird avatar, your far from a Card insider or Fan... This ship has sailed and your left on the docks...

I think this was a brilliant psychological ploy by a true Cards fan who knew that if he made such a bold proclamation about his team they would go out and do the exact opposite. Well played.

AZCards cant even pick a game right without the spread.

Time to get a new hobby, guy

Shows you what we know! :lmao:

Man they looked absolutely horrible! Delhomme needs to just go away... 6 turnovers?!

Then what makes him an insider??? Living in Glendale hardly makes you an insider.
He's inside the the same state that the Cardinals play. :lmao:He was correct in that the Cardnials are a different team when they play on the road, but everyone knew that.

I remember Kurt Warner having that many turnovers against the Jets this past season. Should he go away?
http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter?game_id=2958...8&week=REG43 turnovers. Half that of Delhomme's PLAYOFF performance last night... :lmao:
Delhomme is trash in big games. I was at the '05 NFC Championship game at Seattle and I thought that was the worst game I had ever seen a QB play.

:lmao: at this thread. Sadly, I have a feeling this will not be the end of AZCards' schtick.

Really? I wonder why then he held the the 3rd best QB rating in playoff history before last nights game. That Seattle game was not Delhomme's fault. The Panthers were one dimensional in that Seattle game, because they had no RB. They lost Foster in the Bears game, and his backup Goings got injured at the beginning of the Seattle game. Delhomme usually is very good in big games. He played absolutely awful last night, but many things being posted about him such as your "Delhomme is trash in big games" is completely unfair and not correct.

6 turnovers. He had 3 interceptions, and he lost 3 fumbles.
When was the last time Delhomme won an MVP award? Or the last time he led his team to a SB win?

What does that have to do with anything? simey was just correcting the poster, she wasn't bad mouthing Kurt Warner. Sinrman is the one who was knocking Delhomme on 6 turnovers.

Actually, I'll correct myself. For whatever reason, the link I gave didn't show fumbles. You pointed out 3 fumbles, when according to the box score it was FOUR fumbles. 7 turnovers! HAHA That is definitely atrocious.Either way, I'd take Warner over Delhomme any day. Whether we're talking years ago or right now. If you can show me a similar playoff (when it REALLY counts) performance out of Warner, I'll zip it.

It was 6 turnovers. He fumbled 4 times, but only 3 of those fumbles were lost.
