I spent a 100 bucks, on eca.  I could have cashed out 10k.  I lost because I could only take 1k profit now.  

Time to see how it plays outs.  I am not selling, no reason too.  If we really think end 2017 was the peak, then.....so be it.

 
It's amusing, those that insist it was worth the entertainment value, as if losing their dough somehow made it even more entertaining.

No one is saying that. This thread would have been much more entertaining had we all be getting rich from crypto. Notice that the thread died with the currency. It's just that people knew what they were getting into and didn't freak out when it went away. Let it ride!

OK, just skimmed through the last 2 pages. I haven't seen anyone imply that losing made this better than winning. Maybe you could point it out.

One time, I paid $40 to a man on the street who said he could get me some cocaine.  He returned with a little white baggie.  I raced home, excited to give my nose a little snoot and discovered I had just overpaid for some Arm & Hammer.  Sure, I wish I had the $40 back, but then I wouldn't have this little story to remind myself how stupid I can be.  

As JTC said back in January, once he peeled off that Benjamin, he never expected to see it again.  But we'll be talking about this boondoggle for the next 20 years like we talk about the Russian Bride Draft or EG's poop in the ceiling tile thread.

Exactly.  "AS IF."  You conveniently left out my point, which was to question how it was totally worth the entertainment value.

it has easily been worth the $100-$300 each of us put in.  Been a fun ride and it's not over yet.

Do you ever go to dinner and pay $100 for a meal that you could make at home for $15?  Or buy alcohol at a bar where they mark it up 5-10x's.  Entertainment costs money.  At least for me the $100 i threw in this has already paid for itself.

 
Do I wish my 100 bucks had turned into 10K? Of course.

Am I glad that some hilarity was had and I got to be a minuscule part of a very good FBG story? Sure am.

Hell with two kids under two at home, I'd join a punch myself in the danglers club for 500 bucks, so long it got me away from Elsa and Elmo.

It's been a great ride, thoroughly enjoyed by many, I never said it wasn't.  But please explain how coughing up money somehow made it better or "totally worth it".

To go along with your examples above, which aren't good comparisons imo but I'll play along, the rest of us got drinks on the house if you will.  I suppose I should thank you for that.  Thanks!  And FTR, I would love it if you guys made a comeback.

 
I have no problem that my $200 is most likely gone, I’ve lost a lot more on crypto in the last several months investing on my own. None of the losses are going to make a dent and I piss away money on stupid stuff all the time. I still believe the market is going to have much better days ahead. I appreciate Cav putting all this together and he shouldn’t for one second feel bad about the results even if he really didn’t invest our money and used it to go to The Masters.

That said, not sure where this thread was totally worth it for entertainment value. I can’t think of a single thread on this board  I would ever have laid money down to read. Perhaps $5 for the original AZ Ron thread but that is tainted in my mind now that he is hooking up with trannies.

Not sure how you dont understand this?  If youre at a casino are you having more fun when actually playing craps, or is it more fun just to stand there and watch?  For a small amount like this, its a lot more fun to have money in the game, win or lose.  There is emotion there that cant be felt if you have nothing on the line.   And there is different emotion when you throw in $300 (not going to hurt you either way) or 10k (would not just laugh it off if you lost).

My credit union fixed it the first time.  After sending proof and about 20 emails the 2nd time went through the bbb, no resolution yet.  The 2nd time I had .041 bitcoin in there and they took that and then 120.67 out of my debit card.

yeah, they were in the news.  They were like double charging credit cards and overcharging fees, which I think they tried to pass off as a software issue.  Seems pretty shady for a company that handles a lot of people's money.  I imagine the majority of mis-charges are not caught.  

 
To be quite honest. I have been in hodl mod so long I really don't know where the rest of the stuff is.  I guess I need to open my safe and get the info and check things out.
