CB/WR Travis Hunter, JAX (3 Viewers)

That disgusting, intentional late hit on him from cross-town rival CSU really screwed his and CU's season. He was in heisman discussion before that.

I wonder if the number of snaps he plays contributes to the frequency with which he gets beat deep as a CB.

I presume he’ll move to WR for Sundays; top end and average salaries are significantly higher on offense

Sanders interviews might actually push him down a round.

As for Hunter, if he is listed as a CB when he enters the league he is going to have unusually good IDP draft capital for that position in rookie drafts.

I think NFL teams will want to play Travis Hunter at one position primarily, probably WR would be my guess if not his preference, but use him in two positions. But I wonder if he'll balk at it? I would unless the usage was extremely limited at the secondary position because he'll be on the rookie pay scale. He should be looking out for his long term interest, at minimum that second contract at which point when he can actually negotiate if teams want him to play two positions they can pay him accordingly.

He's put a ton of trust in Deion and frankly I think Deion's taken advantage of him, which is not exactly a unique take. There is no way he should be playing as many snaps as he's been playing. I commend Hunter for it, he's an incredible legit two way player who could play in the NFL at either position, but playing like 140+ snaps in a game is not looking out for that kids long term interest.

One week, Travis Hunter looks like an NFL receiver. The next, an NFL corner. He'll have his pick of what he wants to do on Sundays.

"He is a top-10 player in this draft regardless if you're playing him on offense or defense," @dpbrugler told me.

Jordan Reid
Travis Hunter vs. Colorado State

• 13 catches
• 100 receiving yards
• 2 rec TDs
• 5 tackles
• 1 INT

He’s the first FBS player with 2 rec TD, 100 rec yds and a defensive INT in a game since Kevin Lockett in 1996 (vs. Kansas).

Travis Hunter has played nearly 100 plays on offense and defense today.

He has 7 catches for 81 yards and a touchdown at wide receiver and he just hit the Heisman pose after an interception at cornerback.

Just an insane athlete.

Is he really going to play basketball for the buffalos or are people just overreacting about some of the videos on Twitter?
Unlikely. The guy is a freakish athlete and can throw it down with the best of them. His handle didn't look great and his jumper was slow and not all that pretty. Not good for a highlight. I bet he could figure out how to be a defensive stopper and rebounder, but I doubt he's risking an NFL career for that. He's not an NBA talent based on the limited footage I've seen.

Colorado's Travis Hunter last night against Cincinnati:

- 132 snaps (all 61 on defense, 68 of 71 on offense)
- 153 receiving yards (career high), fifth 100-yard receiving performance this season
- 4 pass breakups (career high)
- 2 touchdowns (both offense)

Plays like this is why Travis Hunter could be the first CB ever selected first in the NFL Draft

He has elite ball skills as a WR to begin with. A guy like that in coverage as a cornerback? That’s a massive difference-maker for your defense

I think he's better at CB, but more money to be made at WR. He's the best player in this class either way. Absolutely incredible player. I'd take him at #1 even if I needed a QB.

Best player in college football this year by far.
Heisman winner for me
All pro corner back in The NFL
Give him 20 snaps on offense
He's the steal of the draft at any spot
#1 included

So a team like the Giants take him over a QB if they land the top pick?

I doubt they would, but they probably should. Though I think this QB class is nowhere near as good as last year's.

The more I see Shedeur play the more I think he is probably the best QB prospect (ignoring the distraction issue of course) in this draft. But, I would not complain if the Raiders passed on Shedeur for Hunter. This kid is special.

Shedeur Sanders has a 139.0 passer rating when targeting Travis Hunter at WR.

158.3 is a perfect passer rating.

Opposing QBs have a 43.0 passer rating when targeting Travis Hunter at CB.

39.6 is the rating you get for throwing every pass into the dirt.

*158.3 is a perfect NFL passer rating
