CB/WR Travis Hunter, JAX (1 Viewer)

Thing is for the Jags, if they make him a CB after spending all that draft capital to move up for him to just be a CB
they look really bad, he would have to be one of the best CB of all time to even come close to warrant that draft position

Either way the Jags really messed up and are making things worse by how they are using him, he is not improving on the offensive side of the ball
due to not being able to focus on learning the offense and working on being a better WR

Jags are spoon feeding him on both sides of the ball and are getting minimal out of that pick, that is what bad teams do, they screw things up
they do not notice they are screwing things up, they ruin/waste talent.

Jags should let him focus on offense, work on being a great WR, who plays some CB that is the only way they will get any value out of that pick and
spent draft capital
I agree. If you take him that high, he should have strictly been used as a WR as it is hard enough for a rookie to adapt to the NFL. CB should not be drafted that high, after a year or two THEN start to implement him as a 2 way player and see how it goes.

This is the route I would go, and more specifically I'd limit him to certain dime/nickel packages on defense - wherever they think he would flourish. So he'd know the exact situations he'd go in and what he's expected to do when he's in. With a very narrow scope, he wouldn't be pulled in two different directions all the time.

With a couple of injuries and byes. I think I have to start him this week.

Yikes!
I’m starting him as flex over Parker Washington and Chig. Unless Bucky gets healthy, then it becomes a difficult choice. Hunter has big consistent in that IDP league, wr44 ppg isn’t what we wanted but he has been better than Jameson, Xavier worthy and AJ brown.

Yeah. Unfortunately this is not an IDP league. He was included in a trade with Jaylen Warren, who I started for the first time last night… and he did well, so maybe there’s hope! It’s Superflex and I start T Law so maybe there’s a chance of a stack!

So, he blows up on probably everyone's bench, if you play him next week will be disappointed more than likely

Seen this happen so many times, miss the breakout game, then chase the points you have been waiting for
play him the next two weeks, he does nothing so back to the bench he goes, then he has another good game lol

… I started him. Without confidence of course, but with full stubbornness.

We all saw the news this week right? Liam said he wanted to get him more first read looks … they did that. And it worked.

BTJ hurt, and still playing scared? Hunter is an easy flex start going forward. I might even say he’s going to be a locked in WR2 the rest of the way.

Wondering if I should trade him now in Dynasty. I'm feeling more confident he find a permanent role on offense, but I don't have a good feel on what his upside is.

As always, depends what you get and need. He’s currently a top 36 WR PPG in the two dynasty leagues I have him, which is solid for any rookie, and very good imo with his needing to learn more than almost any player.
He’s not a top 10 WR, but I’d need a young player I have confidence in being a top 10 going forward. It seems doubtful anyone will give that much.
I guess if you’re going all in for this year you can trade him for a difference maker, but I really don’t think I’d get enough to consider trading him. I happen to be building where I have him, he’s a cornerstone imo.

I have him in a league that I'm a contender in and I haven't started him yet this season. After the Jamo Williams fiasco last week, I may start him in the future. It's just a bad spot either way and I'll probably look to trade him.

My holdup is that I think Jacksonville has to force the ball to him to justify their trade. Its good short term and maybe helps him develop as a WR. It's not a winning football strategy though. There have been several former NFL WRs who have commented on how sloppy Hunter's routes are. Plenty of room to improve, but he's still a very raw talent. If there are some true believers out there, this seems like an ideal time to move him.

This dude is on my target list for buy low around the trade deadline in dynasty leagues. Tons of talent and you have to think Coen isn't gonna sit back and watch TLaw sink his first HC gig.

Can they even get out of that contract if they wanted?
Post June 1 trade in 2026 would mean ~$15mil in dead cap in 26 and 36mil in dead cap in 27. It's not going to be easy, but it's doable.

certainly seems to be among the more controversial players. Problem is those of us who drafted him are likely to be true believers and the whole sunk cost fallacy

If Parker or Brown got fed all the targets Hunter did last week, they would of put up similar #s as Hunter.
Took Hunter 7 weeks to get first TD. He's probably 10th best wr in his class. So overrated.

Next week will be telling if the last few games were a mirage, or a second half breakout is really happening. We also don’t know the health status of BTJ yet.
