CBS Waivers didn't run, no phone number to help?? (1 Viewer)

Just an FYI as I see a lot of reasons to stay are centered around league history.  Just so you know you can import your history into other services, you should check that out.  Probably not ESPN.  But definitely MFL and I think with Flea and RTS but I may be wrong there.  So check out the other sites and see which ones have history import from other services.  Give yourself some options anyway.

Getting fed up with CBS and will explore other options, but change is hard with this group and some owners love the CBS auto generated reports about each game's results and owner's decisions.
Quite a few services offer this.  MFL has for over a decade (both game previews and recaps) and I think even Yahoo does and that's free.

This thread about CBS having "the worst service ever" was started because the waivers ran at 9am rather than the usual 2am?

I said they had the worst customer service ever. Case in point I emailed them at 8:00 am to ask about waivers not running. I got this response at 10:00 pm last night.

I apologize for the inconvenience, but there was a slight issue with our servers last night as they went to undergo their system maintenance. Some leagues have reported that waivers and/or automated FAAB bids have not processed for last night/this morning. Please be advised that we are aware of the issue.

PLEASE DO NOT:

*Make any changes to your Set Transactions Policies page
*Make remove waiver claims and try to re-do any pending claims
*Allow team owners to make any add/drops

We can have the system run correctly and engage the FAAB/waivers, but any player returned to the player pool through the add/drop page will be on waivers for an additional day. We will not be able to change when those affected players will be able to clear FAAB/waivers.

If you refrain from making these moves, your waivers should run shortly with free agents available for pick up in the morning, if your current policies allow it. Leagues using FAAB will not be able to pick up players on first-come, first-served add/drops.

Under no circumstances should you attempt to process these moves on your own or delete the transactions in an attempt to process them through. Our programmers will be running maintenance on the servers hosting these affected leagues to engage these automated processes shortly. Thank you for your patience as we work to resolve this issue.

Gee, thanks Commish.

But....but....It's $6.00 cheaper  :lmao:  .......................and a cluster &#!@ to figure out.

I use both. It's actually $90 cheaper and much easier to use, more customizable (is that a word?), their waivers are way easier to set up, and is 100x better for dynasty play since they allow draft picks to be traded.

Does the commissioner pay for the entire league fee alone? If so, going with a more economical product makes a lot of sense. If not, stop, just stop already. That's a laughable amount for so many CBS bashers to get their calvin's in a bunch about.

I've been in a dozen MFL leagues or more and the #1 complaint is always the overly complicated and tedious waiver process. It takes about 48 mouse clicks to list 3 players you want to add. There are way too many ways to make an error.

Complaint #2 is the archaic 1996 league home page format. It takes a half an hour to surf the site just to find basic information. It's bloated and needed to be streamlined 15 years ago. I know you can change formats but most grown adults can't spend days trying to find a format to their liking if it even exists. MFL clearly doesn't care since they get your money regardless. I will pay $6 more for a more clear, concise, and straight forward website right from the get go.

We can trade draft picks in a redraft. You can't in a dynasty? If so, I can understand the need for another site then.

In our league, CBS allowed an owner to add a 19th player (roster limit is 18) without dropping anyone. I have never seen this happen in the past 9 years, CBS would prevent this by not processing the waiver claim and say "too many players on roster" if attempting to do this. Anyone have any idea why CBS allowed this waiver claim to go through and create an illegal roster? If I had to guess, I'd say it's a bug with allowing an IR slot (but IR was never used in this case - I would see it in the transaction/lineup history). This is inexcusable to me and is the nail in the coffin for CBS as our host.

CBS customer support is actually really good if you contact them through their Twitter account, @CBSSportsHelp. I know not everyone has Twitter, but they respond quickly and every problem I've had as commissioner has been taken care of by them.
Been waiting since early this morning no response.

This is such a tired bit. Who really cares? CBS is our preference. It works out to be $12.50 per team or .78-per week for some of the greatest entertainment on Earth.
I don't have a dog in this fight as I've used several different services as well, but maybe he was genuinely curious if there was a feature(s?) that made using CBS very important for your league setup. I assumed it was the mobile experience, but that changes all the time and I haven't tried their mobile experience recently.

I do tend to hate the advertising on CBS websites, though. They have very good pre-NFL-draft content but the advertising makes the experience so bad I don't read much of their content.

All the different services have trade-offs and it's not easy to stay on top of the changes in the user experience at each.
