Cedric Benson Today (1 Viewer)

I just noticed that Chris Pressley is out today. Will that make starting Benson any more risky today?

I couldn't find any other game this year that he missed. I guess against the Rams that might not make a huge amount of difference.

Any Cincy followers that have any insight into this?

I think Benson will be fine today, 80-100 yds and probab a score.

I have SJax on the bench, and Im wondering if he'll see a bunch of extra check downs from Clemens today that might make him a sneaky play in PPR.

This doesn't seem like a last minute change so I'm assuming that Dodds and Bloom have accounted for this in their projections.

It's been mentioned that perhaps Cedric Peerman could see some duty at the FB position. The other option is backup TE Donald Lee. It may be a bit of a problem in the red zone, but the Bengals have struggled mightily in the red zone the past 6 weeks, so perhaps a change is what it needed.

The backup FB (and 3rd down back) Brian Leonard is out as well. So its just Ced and Bernard Scott. I think Benson is still a good but not great play.

Personally, I have both Benson and SJax in PPR with one open starting spot and am really struggling with the decision. Tough call. As of now though, I'm leaning towards SJax on a small hunch that with 2 starting OL out for the Bengals (RG Bobbbie Collins and RT Andre Smith) and at least one of the backups (RT Andre Collins) more of a finesse pass blocker, the Bengals won't be quite as successful on the ground as some of the more optimistic projections.

I have the same dilemma, Benson or SJax (PPR) I think SJax could see a lot of dump offs... but I think Benson has the better chance of getting in the end zone.

They will most likely put up similiar days, both have low floors and upside.

Who are you going with?

I have a feeling Cincy might get up quickly and that would put a little bit of a damper on their passing game as well as the run game for SJ (maybe more checkdowns though). I guess we will find out soon enough :football:

Bengalbuck - Thanks for the good info

Benson +1

No way would I bench Benson in this game. He should see 25 carries and possibly a few catches as well. With that many touches I think his odds to score are pretty good.

25 carries for 38 yards?Remind to never draft this guy any earlier than the 15th round whether the Bungals thinks he's there top RB or not!

It was an ugly first half for sure. He's certainly getting fed the ball enough, 11 carries. Unfortunately the Rams D is really playing today and he's only amassed 21 yds. I think if they keep pounding it he will break one but it is concerning that he hasn't done more already.

This is why it's good when a RB gets lots of touches... eventual something good is bound to happen.
