Cedric Benson (1 Viewer)

GB made a point to get him involved and while he ran ok the offense struggled as a whole. I will need to see how GB feels about this experiment going foward.
this is what i saw. benson is a cancer to his team and the game of football. its amazing that he has enticed the coaching staff to dismantle one of the greatest offenses of all time.
huh?The Bears defense has given the Packers O fits for years. Here's the point totals for the Packers vs Bears since 2009.2009: 21-15 Packers2009: 21-14 Packers2010: 20-17 Bears(Jan) 2011: 10-3 Packers(Jan Playoff) 2011: 21-14 Packers2011: 27-17 Packers2011: 35-21 Packers2012: 23-10 PackersThat's their last 8 games vs each other, with many of the same players participating. Fact is, the Bears know the Packers probably better than anybody in the league, and match up fairly well defensively. The Packers were also a few inches away from making some of those FGs into TDs.

From FBG

Green Bay Packers RB Cedric Benson had 24 touches in the team's Week 2 game and he could continue to see a heavier workload if opposing defenses are content sitting back with two deep safeties. Head coach Mike McCarthy has also said the offense needs some semblance of a balanced attack.

Our view: We've always loved the fit of Benson on the Packers offense. His no-nonsense style is perfect on a team that has a high powered passing attack. Benson is a grinder who can wear down a defense and gets stronger as the game goes on.

This is pure madness. Benson is going to be used to get teams to stop simply putting their safeties deep. And as long as they won't do that, Benson will just punish them with 4-10 yard runs and short passes. I thought this was brilliant and will open up the mid/deep field for Rodgers and co. As a Bears fan, Benson's success was a very unwelcome aspect to the Packers' attack. However, if you just want to obsess over a gaudy Rodgers stat line, I guess you wouldn't welcome this development.

every time benson gets a carry, that is one less pass by the best qb and best passing offense in the game.
They had a running game going into the 2010 playoffs and won the Super Bowl. They tried all pass in 2011 and were one and done. Enough said.

keep crying
i have 5 teams and the only packer i own is jermichael finley on a single team. well, i got james jones on a few teams but obv i dont start him. this has nothing to do with me or my teams.

For Benson's adp, he is now a great bargain. Coach confirms 18 carries a game is a good target number. He's also catching passes now. We're looking at 20 touches a game moving forward.

RB Cedric Benson has carried the football 20 and 17 times in Green Bay's last two games after he had just nine in the season-opening loss to San Francisco. Head coach Mike McCarthy indicated 18 carries a game is a good target number for the veteran back. Benson has responded to the frequency of touches with a combined 126 yards and a touchdown in weeks 2 and 3.

He was dropped last week in half my leagues including a dynasty league and no one has picked him up. I'm thinking about grabbing him and stashing him on the IR in dynasty in the hopes he has some value at some point.

Don't think there is much value there.

Lisfranc?

And it won't take long to see if Green will keep Benson's value at zero.

IMO...Green won't give up the job barring injury.

Yeah from what we saw of Green he looks like he brings as much as Benson does but a little more explosive and can bust a big run. His pass catching was top grades when he came out of the draft too so waiting to see if hes involved in there area as well.

I dropped him for Green in my 10-team redraft. Nobody has picked him up.-QG
Probably because his value in redraft is virtually nil. He could be ready for game action in week 14. You'd have to be pretty desperate to start him his first week back, and it's likely week 1 of the playoffs. So if he does well week 14, you are looking at a guy you could feel comfortable starting for 2 weeks. (15 &16). Considering his value when healthy is a mid RB2....
