Cedric Humes (1 Viewer)

I picked him in the HyperActive Dynasty league, then I said to myself, "what the hell am I doing?, this guy won't amount to anything". So I dropped him just as fast as I picked him up.

I had really high hopes for him, but he looked horrible in the preseason.
I figure he's Jacobs' backup now. Ward's out and IF IF IF they make the playoffs and Jacobs gets hurt, he's their bruiser back. From now til the end of the season teams will make alot of roster/practice squad moves in an effort to get players in their camp next year. For these lesser players, it shows a little bit on the team's behalf where if they invite them to camp the following year they'll show most times. IMO it amounts to a mini-tryout. I think it's interesting that they want another bruiser in camp with Jacobs around. Ward's no slouch in his own right.

Another example-Pats brought in a couple TEs and a couple DBs early last week. This week they cut the DBs and cut one or both of the TEs. I figure they failed their mini-tryout.

Sorry Steelermurf. Hit a wrong button, no clue why I quoted you.

I guess he failed his mini tryout. Humes was cut and it seems they signed someone named Robert Douglas off the Texans PS.

like I said, he looked horrible in campI don't think he has any future in the NFL, not even practice squad

so i should cut him then?
I wouldYou can check NFLE to see if he's doing especially great to see if you should pick him up again. The last few top runners in NFLE were Robinson with Zona and with Shipp, Arrington, and Edge there really wasn't room for him but he'll pop up in some team's camp this summer.2 Jonathan Smith's. One played for the Titans and wrecked his ankle pretty bad in NFLE. He looked real good but could never get cleared to practice IIRC and they signed him to an injury settlement. The other uses McKenzi as his name/nickname. Vermeil liked him alot and kept him over Dee Brown, that Denver back, and some others. Herm didn't seem to like him all that much.Jarrett Payton played a bit in Tennessee.FWIW It's quite common for there to be a year gap between good play over there and NFL play. Ruvell Martin for example

He Lives!!

Giants have re-signed him and are sending him to NFL Europe.

This is a cruddy move NFL teams do. I hate it. They sign guys just to send em' to NFLE and almost none even go to camp with them. They're required to put X amount of guys up for the NFLE draft and this satisfies the requirement.
It's a stupid requirement. The player wins here, and the team doesn't expose one of its players to injury.
