Love too, but spring break in Union County is that week so won’t be around.
How's it going?Major highway construction in the Triangle is starting later this year and will continue for at least 3 years. http://www.wral.com/news/local/story/11334970/
Guessing this ended up as a no? Trying to solidify my plans for the rest of the week. Was thinking about this the other day, I'd be down.
I think probably so. the bulging disc in my neck is flaring up again and sitting on a barstool for hours at a time sounds dreadful. I will be watching the draft from the comfort of my couch and heating pad. Getting old sucks.Guessing this ended up as a no? Trying to solidify my plans for the rest of the week.
Where in Fla? We were in the keys.Bunch of wussies. I’m up for a Monday night later. Having fun in Florida right now.
Panhandle, Destin. There have to be 50 Cuthbertson/Marvin people here now. All day fishing on a big boat and we were more than half the folks. It’s been relaxing and fun, nice weather. First overcast day, which was perfect for fishing.Where in Fla? We were in the keys.
Hmm... I will probably watch the draft upstaris on the nice TV, close to my kegorator. Also considering my basement which is closer to my PC. Sitting on my porch may be an option if it's nice. I will probably have the wife smoke up some wings to much on. Thursday is my birthday so we will probably have a nice dinner first.@ConstruxBoy @moleculo @Slapdash
What are you guys doing for the draft? I saw Joe’s thread and I know I am all in on every minute of the draft given there is nothing else sports wise.
damn, forgot about that. I was in to see the doctor recently and we were going over old scripts, and a pain killer/muscle relaxer came up from last year. I was completely shuked what was going on and why I needed that. I guess this explains it!I think probably so. the bulging disc in my neck is flaring up again and sitting on a barstool for hours at a time sounds dreadful. Nice! Sucks that you can’t go out an enjoy it. I think I’ll grill some filets for Mother’s Day. My youngest turns 13 in a couple weeks as well. Also ready have his big gifts, didn’t want to chance it but I need to get going on Mother’s Day. I’ll probably go on the 3rd floor to watch and bring some drinks up.Hmm... Just going to watch from home. Annoying we can't meet at a sports bar. Also usually do the second night at a good friend's where we sit outside, grill food, drink great craft beer and switch between the draft and playoff hockey. Going to miss that this year.@ConstruxBoy @moleculo @Slapdash

Definitely sucks. I can’t wait though, something to watch that isn’t a 30 for 30 turned into a 10 part mini series.Just going to watch from home. Annoying we can't meet at a sports bar. Thursday is our anniversary so we will probably get takeout from Fig Tree or Stagioni. Then I will retreat into the office to watch the draft with my scotch collection. Certainly looking forward to something sports related going on...particularly since the Dolphins and Panthers have some interesting drafts coming up.@ConstruxBoy @moleculo @Slapdash

Love me some Stagioni's. Pizzas are awesome and everything else is better.Thursday is our anniversary so we will probably get takeout from Fig Tree or Stagioni. We went once and it just took forever, maybe just an off-night. Less of a concern with takeout. We've agreed to do Stagioni's for the anniversary and FigTree on Saturday just becauseLove me some Stagioni's. Pizzas are awesome and everything else is better.

Will be our first anniversary without our favorite place in Charlotte since Aix-en-Provence closed last year.
Cool. I did season tix, but not sure how many I will go to. I'm planning to be at the Supporters lot before the game.Yep. Can’t wait. Also got tickets to the ATL game in April.
East, but yes. Was just there a couple weeks ago.Is Lupe’s Cafe (just west of downtown if I remember correctly) still open? Damn I loved that dive/chili bar back in the day
Lol, East, yes…I’m bad with directions. I went to college over in Wingate, my bro was up in Davidson, Charlotte was our middle point and that joint was always a go-toEast, but yes. Was just there a couple weeks ago.
I'll be watching from the comfort of my couch, but y'all have fun!
Find me at the tailgate near the MCC tents!Yep. Can’t wait. Also got tickets to the ATL game in April.
My daughter teaches in the Fort Mill school system. It's one of the best in the state but like any school these days, it super challenging with the kids coming through the system now. Good luck!Moving my son and his girlfriend down to Charlotte this weekend. They will be living in an area south of Freedom Park (Park and Woodlawn). He will be working up near the heart of the city and his girlfriend teaching in Fort Mill. Really excited for them and looking forward to spending time down there exploring the area.
Great info in this thread. I guess this is one bigas I could see us relocating to the area if all goes well in a couple years when we're ready (wife already found a home she likes in Indian Land).
Very cool. Will have to touch base down the road to see if their paths cross. She will be the 'new middle school teacher from Michigan'.My daughter teaches in the Fort Mill school system. Ah, cool. I have a special place in my heart for MSU, worked a job there for about 6 months in the 90's right on campus. Charlotte is a great area. We’re planning to leave the area (Union County) as our last son is headed to USC (Gamecocks) in the Fall and we’ve got a lake lot in SC waiting for our semi-retirement to start. It’s not too far from Charlotte but actually closer to USC.Headed there myself in a few weeks for a work event and my daughter is also interested in transferring to Charlotte next semester so she will likely tag along.
Gotta think having the light rail extended there makes this a bit more bearable by now. It's a pretty nice, big campus just a bit isolated. Whereas I really liked USC because of how in the middle of the city it is.The only thing I’ve heard is that UNCC can be more of a commuter school because so many kids live in the surrounding area.
It’s not how good/bad the commute is, more so that a lot of students do commute and so it’s not quite the same as other universities where everyone is on campus all the time. That’s just what I heard since my boys know kids who did transfer to other area universities.Gotta think having the light rail extended there makes this a bit more bearable by now. Big fan of Charlotte.
Plaza Midwood area is super fun.
Burial Beer and Resident Culture two of my favorite breweries in the state.
Supperland is a fantastic restaurant.
Jon G's BBQ nearby is fantastic https://forums.footballguys.com/threads/official-grilling-and-smoking-thread.703786/post-25332746
Yeah, my point was more it makes it easier to go out and about to other areas of town. When I used to visit friends there it just felt like we'd have to pile in a car for 20 minutes to do anything. It’s not how good/bad the commute is, more so that a lot of students do commute and so it’s not quite the same as other universities where everyone is on campus all the time.
