Guessing this ended up as a no?  Trying to solidify my plans for the rest of the week.
I think probably so.  the bulging disc in my neck is flaring up again and sitting on a barstool for hours at a time sounds dreadful.  I will be watching the draft from the comfort of my couch and heating pad.  Getting old sucks.

Yeah, getting in late tonight from spring break and then going out with the guys on Friday. Better stay home tomorrow. Will try to find a Monday night game to get together.

Where in Fla? We were in the keys.
Panhandle, Destin. There have to be 50 Cuthbertson/Marvin people here now. All day fishing on a big boat and we were more than half the folks. It’s been relaxing and fun, nice weather. First overcast day, which was perfect for fishing.

What are you guys doing for the draft? I saw Joe’s thread and I know I am all in on every minute of the draft given there is nothing else sports wise.
Hmm...  I will probably watch the draft upstaris on the nice TV, close to my kegorator.  Also considering my basement which is closer to my PC.  Sitting on my porch may be an option if it's nice.  I will probably have the wife smoke up some wings to much on.  Thursday is my birthday so we will probably have a nice dinner first.

damn, forgot about that.  I was in to see the doctor recently and we were going over old scripts, and a pain killer/muscle relaxer came up from last year.  I was completely shuked what was going on and why I needed that.  I guess this explains it!

Nice! Sucks that you can’t go out an enjoy it. I think I’ll grill some filets for Mother’s Day. My youngest turns 13 in a couple weeks as well. Also ready have his big gifts, didn’t want to chance it but I need to get going on Mother’s Day. I’ll probably go on the 3rd floor to watch and bring some drinks up.

Just going to watch from home. Annoying we can't meet at a sports bar. Also usually do the second night at a good friend's where we sit outside, grill food, drink great craft beer and switch between the draft and playoff hockey. Going to miss that this year.

Definitely sucks. I can’t wait though, something to watch that isn’t a 30 for 30 turned into a 10 part mini series.

Thursday is our anniversary so we will probably get takeout from Fig Tree or Stagioni.  Then I will retreat into the office to watch the draft with my scotch collection.  Certainly looking forward to something sports related going on...particularly since the Dolphins and Panthers have some interesting drafts coming up.

Love me some Stagioni's. Pizzas are awesome and everything else is better.

We went once and it just took forever, maybe just an off-night.  Less of a concern with takeout.  We've agreed to do Stagioni's for the anniversary and FigTree on Saturday just because 🐷

Will be our first anniversary without our favorite place in Charlotte since Aix-en-Provence closed last year.

Maybe an off night. We love it every time we go there and the food is usually delicious.

Anyone planning on going to the first Charlotte FC game tomorrow? Assume @Worm will be out there.
Haven't logged in here for a while but yes I was there and also was there for the first win last night!

Send me a PM if you will be at the tailgate Saturday for Cinci

Moving my son and his girlfriend down to Charlotte this weekend. They will be living in an area south of Freedom Park (Park and Woodlawn). He will be working up near the heart of the city and his girlfriend teaching in Fort Mill. Really excited for them and looking forward to spending time down there exploring the area.

Great info in this thread. I guess this is one big :blackdot:as I could see us relocating to the area if all goes well in a couple years when we're ready (wife already found a home she likes in Indian Land).

My daughter teaches in the Fort Mill school system. It's one of the best in the state but like any school these days, it super challenging with the kids coming through the system now. Good luck!

Very cool. Will have to touch base down the road to see if their paths cross. She will be the 'new middle school teacher from Michigan'.

I'm not a Walmart Wolverine if that helps. I went to Central Michigan and both kids went to MSU.

Ah, cool. I have a special place in my heart for MSU, worked a job there for about 6 months in the 90's right on campus. I graduated from Akron so very familiar with directional MI schools :hifive:

Chips vs Zips. A classic match-up!

:lmao: hadn't heard that one before

Headed there myself in a few weeks for a work event and my daughter is also interested in transferring to Charlotte next semester so she will likely tag along.
Charlotte is a great area. We’re planning to leave the area (Union County) as our last son is headed to USC (Gamecocks) in the Fall and we’ve got a lake lot in SC waiting for our semi-retirement to start. It’s not too far from Charlotte but actually closer to USC.

My middle son goes to App State and my oldest went go Clemson and both love their schools. I assume Charlotte is UNCC. It’s a solid school and my sons have friends that went there, but some of them transferred. The most recent played lacrosse with my youngest and middle son and he’s at USC as well. The only thing I’ve heard is that UNCC can be more of a commuter school because so many kids live in the surrounding area. If she’s interested in NC schools, App is around the same academically and I highly recommend it. The kids that go there seem to love and even though it’s not the SEC, the football games are a blast. If your daughter likes a bit colder climate, my son and his fraternity brothers went snowboarding at a local mountain all the time this winter. My sons were beach kids, but my middle son loves App and beaches.

Charlotte is really well located with so many places within a few hours, several beaches (Hilton Head, Wilmington, Myrtle), Charleston, Asheville, Atlanta, a ton of big time schools, ton of lakes and the mountains.

Gotta think having the light rail extended there makes this a bit more bearable by now. It's a pretty nice, big campus just a bit isolated. Whereas I really liked USC because of how in the middle of the city it is.

It’s not how good/bad the commute is, more so that a lot of students do commute and so it’s not quite the same as other universities where everyone is on campus all the time. That’s just what I heard since my boys know kids who did transfer to other area universities.

Big fan of Charlotte.

Plaza Midwood area is super fun.

Burial Beer and Resident Culture two of my favorite breweries in the state.

Supperland is a fantastic restaurant.

Jon G's BBQ nearby is fantastic https://forums.footballguys.com/threads/official-grilling-and-smoking-thread.703786/post-25332746

Yeah, my point was more it makes it easier to go out and about to other areas of town. When I used to visit friends there it just felt like we'd have to pile in a car for 20 minutes to do anything.
