***Chicago Cubs Thread*** (3 Viewers)

A win today and a STL loss would give them a 10 game lead in the division. So I went back and looked to see if they'd be the fastest team, in the divisional era, to a 10 game lead. I stopped looking at each year when I hit 1977 where the Dodgers, in only 26 games played, got it to 10.5 on May 6th of that year.

2001 Mariners stretched it to 10 on May 11th in 35 games

Didn't Bryant play 3B last year?   I was surprised this year seeing him in the outfield.
Schwarbers injury has forced Bryant to play more outfield.  He's played all 3 OF positions 3rd, and now 1st pretty effortlessly

Wow...that's impressive.   Glad he's on our team

I was just under the scoreboard in the party area when Bryant hit the bomb off the scoreboard on Thurs.  Great view of the scrum for it...after 20 seconds, a 100-pound girl comes out of the pile with nose gushing blood, and the ball in her hand raised high...everyone went nuts, and I doubt she had to buy another drink anywhere in town that night.

Watching Lester back off a bunt like that just tarnishes a great outing for me.  It's illogical, but I can't stand it.  Drives me nuts.

Nice to see Heyward starting to settle in a little bit.  Hopefully Soler is ok.  Injuries are creeping up.  Glad they kept all of their depth.

Matt Murton must be fuming. It's one thing to bring up hot prospects in Baez and Almora, but to trade for Chris Coghlan instead of giving him the call, that kind of blows.
