Chris Henry arrested again (1 Viewer)

Co-worker just heard this on 700wlw in Cincinnati. No link yet. I will update if/when I get a link, nothing yet.

700WLW is reporting Chris Henry was arrested for driving with a suspended license among other things sometime last week.

(Opinion below)

I think those are moving violations, and not sure if those are covered in collective bargaining agreement unless the judge sees it as a violation of probation. Not even sure if this would be an arrest unless they found stuff during the traffic stop.

Common sense is a different story.

Nothing to do with this recent arrest I don't think......

More discipline for Bengals WR Henry from NFL?

PHOENIX - Bengals wide receiver Chris Henry might be one of the first players to experience harsher penalties under the NFL's new personal conduct policy.

Commissioner Roger Goodell said Monday he will detail his plan and put it into effect before the draft, April 28 and 29.

Asked if the policy would have a retroactive component, Goodell hinted it would.

"We'll be dealing with people who've had repeated offenses," he said during a news conference at the league's annual meeting. "We'll be dealing with them pretty harshly."

Henry's four arrests since December 2005 are for marijuana possession, concealed weapons, providing alcohol to minor females and DUI.

About three dozen NFL players were arrested in 2006. The Bengals have had nine players arrested since Jan. 1, 2006.

Goodell has support from owners and the NFL Players Association for his policy. He said he has met individually or in groups with more than 50 players.

He wants to make revisions to the plan before enacting it before the draft. Goodell said he would act on several disciplinary cases before the draft to allow teams to adjust their rosters.

"I assure you it will be stronger," Goodell said. "The discipline will be stepped up."

The focus will be on repeat offenders the likes of Henry and Tennessee cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones, Henry's college teammate at West Virginia, who has had 10 incidents in which he was interviewed by police since the 2005 draft.

In addition to tougher penalties, including the likelihood of year-long suspensions, the policy will expand educational programs - such as the rookie symposium - and make players more familiar with local laws. Goodell expects teams to further their own educational programs and indicated possible fines to teams if they don't.

"We need to be able to act before the judicial system is complete," Goodell said.

Suspend him for the freakin year already.

Crack down on colleges because apparently there are alot of dumb mofo's coming out of college into pro sports.

I will say this for CH if he goes to the pokey for any amount of time. He has good hands and should not have a problem holding on to the soap. :lmao:

Wannabe gangster, some people think the phrase is linked with wanksta which is not a word. It is also a rap by the famous 50 cent.

yo' jus a wangsta

I think a telling tale is that when they talk about the "New Policy" on NFL network, the whole clip they show is all pacman, chris henry and one take of tank johnson. Enough said...

I hope something is done about this clown. He has to be given a serious suspension that maybe will send a message to others. BTW-anyone know why so many WVA guys are this much trouble? Henry and Pacman are clearly leading the NFL in this category.

Roger Goodell: They've got a name for people like you Henry. That name is called "recidivism."

Marvin Lewis: Repeat offender!

Roger Goodell: Not a pretty name, is it Henry?

Chris Henry: No, sir. That's one bonehead name, but that ain't me any more.

Roger Goodell: You're not just telling us what we want to hear?

Henry: No, sir, no way.

Marvin Lewis: 'Cause we just want to hear the truth.

Henry: Well, then I guess I am telling you what you want to hear.

Roger Goodell: Boy, didn't we just tell you not to do that?

Henry: Yes, sir.

Roger Goodell: Okay, then.

GUILTY until proven innocent!
I would say generally that is how most react these days. Sad, but true. In Henry's case, it becomes harder to stay objective because of his track record. Where there is smoke, there usually is FIRE! Sad, but true. :lmao:

LOLlove that part

Stil scouring everywhere. 700wlw is pretty reliable, so if it was on there it should show up. My friend sits across from me at work and heard on radio at his desk. We will see.

confirmed but I wouldnt really call this criminal activity.....
According to court records, Henry was driving his car in the 1100 block of Vine Street when police noticed a car not using the turn signal. After police pulled the Cadillac Escalade over, they found that the third year player was driving on a suspended license and did not have his seat belt on.

He posted the $100 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on April 16th.

Still no link showing that he was arrested. Just what the OP's friend heard.

Driving while suspended is usually an infraction or misdemeanor, which means you can be sentenced to a maximum of one year in jail and fined $5,000. Under certain circumstances, however, the offense may be classified as a felony. One situation where a DWS is a felony is when a person's license was suspended due to conviction for driving under the influence of intoxicants. In such a case, the offense is punishable by imprisonment for not more than five years and a fine of not more than $100,000.

Sorry JAA. I was just doing my impersonation of Lhucks.

Driving with a suspended license is nothing. I used to work in auto insurance and there are a shizload of people with that ticket. It's a stupid mistake, especially with his kind of coin, he could of hired a driver. You guys make it sound like he shot someone.

Obviously this guy doesn't care about the law and maybe thinks he is above it, a lot of young people are like this. Bengals need to trade this guy to a place like Green Bay or Buffalo where there is nothing to do, then he might stay out of trouble.

Get a clue, Henry had a judge tell him he couldn't drive...and he drove. It's idiotic, and while it is a minor moving violation the bigger problem is he violated a court order suspending his license.

Good luck Scarecrow

I was going to bring this up in a Pac Man thread earlier. It may just be coincidental that these two.....the highest offenders in the NFL.....come from the same college. If Rich Rodrigues and WVU aren't more careful, that program will become the next U. of Miami, or even worse, the next U. of Tennessee.

Best part is ticket. http://www.wlwt.com/download/2007/0327/11404570.pdf

His license is "SLIM-15"

story below

http://www.wlwt.com/news/11404590/detail.html

CINCINNATI -- Chris Henry’s professional football career could be in jeopardy after his latest problems with the law.

Police said the Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver was cited March 21 for driving on a suspended license, improper signal and a seat belt violation.

Henry had a court date scheduled for Monday, News 5 has learned. No details on that hearing have yet been released.

Henry’s car was impounded after the traffic stop in Over-The-Rhine near the intersection of Vine Street and Central Parkway, police said.

The latest charges could be in violation of Henry’s parole agreement after he served two days in jail on a guilty plea in January to letting minors drink alcohol in a hotel room he had rented.

As part of his two most recent convictions, Henry must avoid using alcohol and drugs. He also is on probation and must perform community service.

Henry has been arrested four times in the past 14 months and served a four-game suspension in 2006.

He has become the focal point, along with former West Virginia University teammate Adam “Pacman” Jones, of recent efforts by new NFL commissioner Roger Goodell to stiffen player conduct penalties.

Goodell has discussed earlier and longer suspensions for players who become involved in off-field legal troubles.

I'm guessing he was on his way to shoot someone. :banned:

I guess we should forget he pulled a gun on a cop in Florida 2 years ago. As a Bengals homer, I would love to see him suspended for a year. We would survive without him, he drops the damn ball when it counts anyway. He has had enough chances. If I was in his boat, I would do the simple things, like buckle your seatbelt. Over the Rhine in Cinncinnati is one of the bad parts of Cincinnati, he fits in well there.

There sure are a lot of judgmental people here. Henry's actions pale in comparison to other athletes' crimes (Pacman, JLew, etc.).

Hookers, guns, weed, alcohol? Meh, who cares. If the guy shoots someone or has a van full of drugs, come talk to me. Aside from that, mind your business.

It's a good thing he is a gifted WR, otherwise he would already be in jail as a regular person.
You are probably right, considering the "calibre" of cops in Cincinnati. That town's as racist as Boston and any city in the South.

:lmao:   So does Porter still deserve to be suspended and Henry not, Bengal fans?
Yes, Porter should be suspended. Yes, Henry is already going to be suspended and this won't help.Btw, the difference with this instance and This is what exactly?

:X EDIT: The difference is that Steelers fans actually think that Cincinnati can't plug in another WR for a few games or the entire season and not miss a beat. Wishful thinking, I guess.

I guess we want the NFL to turn into the NBA. Yes, this is minor, but he has had multiple chances. If it stays a traffic violation, great, let it go. But since he is on probatation he should really tow the line.

I live in Cincinnati, and it is no more racist than any other city. He was not wearing a seatbelt, which is enough for a police officer to pull someone over in Ohio. (I believe, not a cop, so don't quote me)

As a Bengal fan, I don't want him on our team. Anyway, I posted this as a heads up on another Chris Henry incident. Not a bashing thread.

Trying to keep everyone up on the news on the Cincinnati Bengals since I live here, and this won't get mainstream media unless he violates his probation because of it.
