Chris Ivory (1 Viewer)

Any word on when reggie is due back? They have a week 10 bye and should go 2-1 over the next three games (possibly 3-0 since Pit is at home). Any reason for bush to return prior to week 11?
There is word that Reggie could be back for the Steelers game.source Jay Glazer

also Glazer mentions a possibility of PT having a better chance of returning this week than Bush. I am not sure what he basing that on but keep your eye on the practice reports this week.

Does Ivory stand a chance against the Steelers next week? I don't like the matchup at all, especially since he didn't get it done with 15 carries against the Browns. A bye coming in week 10, not sure if this guys value is worth stashing.

Looking at your roster, I would say yeah he is worth stashing. I wouldnt be starting him against the Steelers however. There has to be better options than that.

Ivory had a nice game against almost the worst rush defense in the NFL today, carry on.
Yeah, dude. Nothing but top 3 defenses from here on out...
Ivory is going to be what the rest of the way? RB2...RB1? He played a rush defense that allowed Pitt with no QB to run wild and ended up getting blown out 38-6 in that game...today was 31-6...Ivory is SP pirate booty as usual. The overreaction at times in here is unreal. Not trying to argue with you specifically but this thread is loaded with folks that had a few too many Miller Lites today.
Does this guy nail 'em or what?I'm kidding, relax but this is a classic example of chasing points. Ivory iswhat he is. Sure Pierre Thomas and Reggie Bush will be bench guys when they come back.

New Orleans simply is not what they were a year ago. The OL has been spit and Brees nailed it when he said you throw 2 pics for TD returns that you won't win the ball game, period. Brees is such a pro, take responsibility for the loss and 'm sure next week he will come out and put on a clinic.

I dont think Reggie or PT will be Bench guys when they come back nor do I think this is Ivorys break out year. I do see him becoming part of the future RB plans as he matures in aspects of the game such as pass blocking. He already seemed to be learning ball security by not losing one fumble this game. Lets not forget also one of his few big runs was called back because of a stupid penalty in the Browns game. The problem with the Saints this season should be really apparent. The pass blocking and run blocking simply are not there. This has kept Brees in hurry up mode and has left very little room for any Saints running back to run with exception of the Tampa game. Until the Saints offensive line woes are settled, I wouldn't own a Saints running back on my fantasy team. We will see if Sean Payton can get through to Nicks, Evans, Bushrod and Stinchcomb before Monday nights game. If not then the playoffs become further and further out of reach for the Saints and with that I would imagine they would want to continue to see what they have in Chris Ivory before going to the draft for a RB next season.

Chris Ivory can still be a matchup / bye week/injury guy. Depending on the reports he could be the starter for a while. thats worth something.

Coach Sean Payton confirmed Monday that the Saints are growing "frustrated" with Pierre Thomas' inability to recover from his ankle sprain.

Payton, however, declined to confirm Sunday's FOX Sports report that Thomas could be in his doghouse, saying "repeatedly" that his conversations with the running back would remain an in-house matter. Thomas' agent insists that his client would be playing if it were possible. Agent LaMont Smith called Thomas' injury a "high ankle sprain," before backtracking when informed that Payton had previously said the sprain is not of the high variety.

Thomas didn't practice today and looks to be out again this week. Bush was not practicing either. The Steelers are a tough draw but going forward does Ivory continue to have good value based on the upcoming schedule?

NFL Network's Jason La Canfora reports that Reggie Bush (fibula) is "very doubtful" to play Sunday night against the Steelers.

La Canfora hears that "it's looking very bleak" for Bush's chances. Bush is able to run, but still can't practice. With Pierre Thomas (ankle) also likely out, Chris Ivory is setup for another start at tailback. After struggling in Week 7, he won't be a fantasy option against Pittsburgh's No. 1 run defense. Play Ivory against the Steelers at your own peril. this will be an air show from the Saints, bump Lance Moore for sure.

Betts may be the better play this week. No one has run well against the Steelers yet and Ivory isn't used in passing situations. Last week Betts and ivory had the same total yards.

That being said, neither has much value this week but Ivory certainly does still have value beyond this week as long as Thomas is out.

Bear in mind that the Steelers just lost DE Aaron Smith, the team's best run defender, for the season. Obviously, this will not make the Steelers into even an average defense over night, but last year they lost Smith as well, and their Run D took a noticeable hit.So, it won't be an ideal start for Ivory, but it may not be as bad as some would assume.
