Chris Ivory (2 Viewers)

What is everyone prognosis for this week?

Week 7 against NE in Foxboro- Ivory only ran for 41 yards on 17 carries, caught 2 passes (1 for a TD). Powell didn't play, Ridley didn't play, but Stacy had 7 carries for 19 yards and 1 catch. Bohanon added in 2 catches for 36 yards.

Does anyone think that Powell will have a better week than Ivory or is this a week to stick with him.

I think Ivory will have a solid game if Hightower sits for the Pats. I'll be watching the inactive list for NE

Another clunker but can you sit him in week 17?

Touches since Powell came back from injury:

Week 11: 9(17)-9(41)

Week 12: 23(42)-8(34)

Week 13: 15(43)-14(30)

Week 14: 23(37)-8(23)

Week 15: 14(28)-13(36)

Week 16: 15(25)-12(40)

Format=Week:Ivory touches(offensive snaps)- Powell touches (offensive snaps)

Bills gave up 99 yards to McFadden last week on 19 carries. But I'm not so sure Ivory will get that many touches

If Powell is out then does ivory put up decent numbers today? The weather should be nice and cold.
I think he will have to put up decent numbers for them to win. He's actually been a decent receiving option, so with Powell out, he should get 3 receptions at a minimum. He just needs to get into the end zone. I think 10 PPR points should be the floor with the receptions, but a TD gets you closer to those 20ish PPR games he's had (5 of those, last in week 12 when Powell had his last "bad" game before the good 4 week run).

Summary: About 33 degrees with a good chance of snow and wind from 20-25 MPH
Should actually be OK for Fitz and Ivory. I read something about last week where Fitz had his first completion over 30 yards in the air (something like that). Regardless of the exact stat, it definitely implied that he isn't going deep, any long TD pass is a RAC. His 4 seasons in Buffalo should have him ready as well. I wonder if it will affect Buffalo more with Taylor/Watkins since they have had a lot of long receptions lately.

The guy must be hiding an injury
He wasn't hurt last week and he was limited in practice. I think they are trying to play it smart and rest him. Well, Ridley's playing great and they're about to not be in the playoffs. If he's hurt and can't play then why probable and active.

He looked great on that long run. Awful usage of the RBs today. Ridley looks crappy and is averaging under 3 YPC, while Ivory can't buy touches, in a must win game. Brilliant.

note: I have nothing on the line fantasy-wise today.

So dumb. Steelers are about to score again and the Jets want to give Ridley more touches. Ridley sucks. I'm pissed as an Ivory owner but also Fitz (should have started Taylor). Ridley did nothing early on and that doesn't help open up the passing game. Ivory is also a decent receiver. So dumb. I'm hoping the Jets don't make it.

Can't wait to hear the explanation on the lack of touches for Ivory.
Bowles lost that one with Fitz help. Who, down 2, with the playoffs on the line, in FG range, late in the 4th, throws low % deep passes to the endzone?

What are dynasty guys hoping for this offseason? New team or resign?

Would think owners are looking for a fresh start somewhere else as he wasn't too heavily leaned on late in the season when they had healthy options.

Either way he's prob looking at RBBC, with at the very least another guy drafted.

I may try to package him with another pick to move up a few spots.

Dynasty sell for sure. I doubt the Jets bring him back, and in addition to the uncertainty of his situation he's likely the type of back that will fall off of a cliff quickly. He takes a beating on his runs and has always been the type to get "nicked up" due to his running style so the wear and tear will take it's toll.

Seeing if I can package him with the 4 to move to the #2 rookie pick. He's worth that much, right?
Maybe you could move from the 4th round to the 2nd round, but no one is giving up a chance at Zeke or Treadwell for Ivory.

Jaguars agreed to terms with RB Chris Ivory, formerly of the Jets.
This one comes out of left field. T.J. Yeldon was the 36th pick in last year's draft, but the Jaguars don't necessarily view him as a 20-plus touch-per-game back. Yeldon rarely got opportunities in the red zone as a rookie, with the Jaguars instead opting to go pass-heavy inside the 20-yard line or give looks to fringe RBs Toby Gerhart, Shoelace Robinson, and Jonas Gray. Ivory projects to now handle scoring-position work in a timeshare with Yeldon, who averaged 4.1 YPC as a rookie. Yeldon also battled a couple of nagging injuries, including a sprained MCL. Ivory hasn't had health on his side in his career, either, but is a downhill power runner for OC Greg Olson.

Floored Jacksonville paid him that kind of money, and not sure what to make of it for his dynasty value. On the one hand, Jacksonville just drafted TJ Yeldon who posted a solid rookie season. On the other, the Jags seemed to constantly be giving Robinson and Gerhart carries, especially in the red zone. Plus the Jags offense actually put up a ton of points with Bortles, Robinson, Hurns, and Thomas.

Maybe it's a push in the grand scheme of things. I wouldn't expect much more than 12-15 carries a game with Yeldon getting another 10-15, and that's assuming game script cooperates. Maybe this helps keep both guys healthy, but caps the upside. I suppose Ivory could score 10 times though as the likely preferred guy in the red zone with a pretty good offense.  If fewer carries keeps him healthier, maybe we see a very similar season to this past one, value wise, with nearly 1000 yards and 8-10 TDs. 220 carries (~14 per game) at 4.5 per carry gets him there. Severely capped upside though with a backfield mate like Yeldon and little clarity who will be the top dog, though with this contract you have to assume it's Ivory.

ill stay away from both RB's going forward. Unfortunately if you have one in a dynasty you might be selling at a discount. Yuck.....

I think Jax just had cash to burn and they wanted a solid backup or tandem mate. They prolly both get around 12-15 carries a game with Ivory at the goalline and Yeldon catching the passes.

Well I guess it says a lot about what they thought of giving Yeldon a 3-down presence.  I think it was too soon to make that call considering $6M is a lot of money they could have put somewhere else.

Agreed but the bolded. This is bizarre. They must not have any faith in Yeldon. As for those projected carries, that is very, very optimistic. Last year, the Jags averaged 18.4 RB carries per game. Even if that number increases 25%, not really enough to spread around considering Robinson will still get a few carries. Ivory himself averaged 16.5 per game last year. This looks like a fantasy disaster.

Think the only definitive thing it points to is that the Jags wanna run the ball a lot more than last season. Id drop Bortles pass attempt numbers significantly.

Yeah, they were behind a lot, so they were running it less. Also, with regard to the money, I think its likely they just have so much to spend, that theyre just spending

This is a possibility, as well as the GL stuff mentioned above. I think they also just want quality depth at the position maybe. Thats an expensive way to go about it though
