News: Bengals offensive coordinator Bob Bratkowski and coach Marvin Lewis said it's likely that RB Cedric Benson will play in a reserve role against the Cowboys. The Bengals signed Benson to a one-year contract Tuesday because they didn't have a fully healthy running back. Starter Chris Perry was limited in practice Wednesday because of a sore hamstring, which the team hadn't previously revealed. Reserve Kenny Watson sat out practice with an injured hamstring. DeDe Dorsey went on the injured reserve list Tuesday with a hamstring injury. Benson was released by the Bears following two offseason arrests in Texas involving alcohol, but the cases were dropped when grand juries chose not to indict last week. The Bengals were getting him ready to play at least part of the game on Sunday.

Analysis: It appears like Perry won't be 100 percent against the Cowboys in Week 5. Go into the game with Perry as a low-end No. 3 Fantasy option, but use another RB if you have a better option since Perry will now lose carries to Benson.

Chris Perry owner here. I was optimistic after the first couple of weeks. Not so sure now. Fumble prone, injury prone + Palmer issue. And why can't Cedric Benson succeed at some point? I remember all the BS about Rudi only being reserve bench strength when he went to Detroit. Took him about 3 quarters to win the job outright. If Benson is running better than Perry, he will get the job. I picked him up for the minimum today (Deuce went in our league for $275 freakin' dollars - not cap money - real money).
