The Dayton Daily News speculates that Chris Perry might be benched in favor of Kenny Watson or Cedric Benson by Week 7.Coach Marvin Lewis wouldn't downplay the possible running back controversy in his post-game press conference. "We need to look at it and take a hard look, and see what's the best thing for us to go forward," he said. Perry rushed 11 times for 14 yards on Sunday. Source: Dayton Daily News

i'm really surprised he hasn't made more with this opportunity. the offense in general is a mess, but he's really shown nothing to indicate he's anything more than average at best.

I haven't seen their games, but are the running game problems primarily attributable to Perry, or to the offensive woes as a whole?

Its a combo. The Oline is awful, but Chris this week looked like he was content with dropping down to prevent a fumble.

Would love to see KW a chance again. Try to earn that $9 I spent on him in the subscriber contest.
The main problem is the O-line and Fitzpatrick is horrible. It's hard to have any RB suceed in that environment. Perry's number of fumbles are inexecusible though. I don't think Benson is the answer, he hasn't shown much running the ball and he has to come out on 3rd downs because he can't catch or passblock. I agree that it would be interesting to give KW a chance. He has the same skillset as Perry, and although he is not as fast or explosive, he could help the Bungles with ball security.

Yea, he has looked painfully mediocre since the preseason. I own him in a few leagues and I probably should've looked to deal him back when he had some semblance of trade value.

why'd they drop kenny watson in the first place? :shrug:and why have no teams shown interest in him??
It was a roster spot trick. Everyone knew Watson would be resigned in the next couple of days. He was going to sit out the game due to his hamstring injury, and they needed his spot for Chris Henry.Perry runs like a little girl with dirty diapers. He should be stapled to the bench.

Sure was a good idea to cut Rudi. That orginization is pathetic.
He's really lighting it up for the Lions. Rudi would have stunk too, only it would have been $3 million to watch him get 20 carries for 35 yards. The only cut that looks really dumb at this point is Big Willie. That was the real disgrace.

:lmao: I missed on Perry bad! Him and Maurice Morris are two guys I've had faith in for years and, for both of them I think it's a combo of bad O-lines blended with them not being as talented as I thought.

Yes, but if Kenny Watson were really any good, surely some other team would have claimed him off waivers when he was available.

Teams generally don't pick up 30 year old RBs mid-season to come in and learn a new system. NFL just doesn't work that way. KW showed last year that he can produce -- it is just that Cinci was likely looking for a little more longetivity.

I did stand behind Perry after the all the injuries and was glad going into Week 1 that the patience paid off. Then I saw Week 1 and 2 and couldn't believe how he resembled a late career veteran on his last legs. I couldn't deal the guy quick enough at his first hint of success (coming against the Giants).

Losing a bit of ability after all the time off is to be expected, but the guy is nothing resembling the Perry we saw in bits and pieces during the Rudi area in Cincy. His career path really looks to resemble Kevan Barlow (and like Barlow, I don't expect to see him in the league in a year or two)

I wonder what Oak is asking for Bush or Fargas. Would either do well in Cincy?
Not likely. While not great, Cinci's problems are not with the RB - they are with the line (and the team as a while for that matter). Plus, no Palmer...any RB is going to be in trouble there.
