Chris Williams out for the year? (1 Viewer)

I just heard on NFL Network that many people around the league believe that Chris Williams will miss the year. They said that many teams took him off their board because of his back issues. Supposedly, this issue is different than the problem he had in the past. If this is true, how does it effect Forte? But could the Bears be any worse than they were last year?

In my opinion, Forte is good and bad. He's good for dynasty leagues if you believe in his talent.

He's bad for re-draft leagues because his team looks terrible....YET

He's also good for re-draft leagues because he'll see as many carries as any of the rookies.

This injury wouldn't help him though, thats for sure.

It may affect Forte insomuch as having John Tait at LT (or worse *shiver*) means less sustained drives and effective third down passing, but I dont think any of us were expecting that anyway. It could be a boon for Forte's stats because Williams was a finesse blocker known more for his ability to mirror pass rushers than mauling defenders and drive blocking them into the secondary, and because well, if the QB faces more pressure, he'll likely dump off more to the RB (and more screens, etc will be called to cool the pass rush), and Forte is an excellent receiver.

As I wrote under Matt Forte in my RB thread...

"OL (F): Anytime John St Clair is being mentioned as a potential starter at LT on your team things are not good. 3.1 ypc last season. Chris Williams has a pretty bad back injury that is keeping him out right now. This line is in bad bad shape IMO."

I'd be surprised if Forte doesn't wind up with 40-50 receptions. Should be a pretty good option in PPR leagues.
