Just a guess, but I think it's likely that his raw athleticism and running talent was trumped by crappy work habits and football intelligence. The poor fit and contract arguments don't hold a ton of water with me; Seattle is a smart franchise and would have made it work if they thought he was likely to pan out.

I think the idea is that if Michael got some playing time and was able to make better use of the holes the o-line is creating, they might be inspired as opposed to feeling like they're busting their ### for nothing because Randle/Dmac aren't good enough to take advantage if their efforts.

O linemen have always been inspired by physical rbs that break tackles and whatnot. It's not a new concept. Only natural that it would fire them up.

At least we should have resolution soon or this year. I've had him since his rookie draft in dynasty. If he can't make it this year, I'm off the wagon. Gave him benefit of the doubt behind Lynch. Loved it when he landed in Dallas. Sucks the passing game took the blow it did because now the D can stack the box all day. He's clearly behind Randle and DMac and I've thought Randle has looked good in spurts but it's now or never for CMike for me.

10+ carries this week. I think the over under should be 14. Joe is in the doghouse. Darren runs like a 40 year old and they need him in the Dunbar role, something Chris has not worked on at all as I understand it, and also something Darren has down pat as he competed for the job.

Fantasy wise this could be big for Darren. New England figures to have a big lead forcing Dallas into the 4 wide sets that have been featuring Dunbar.

This is the kind of random speculation that keeps this thread going I guess. FWIW, Randle has 18 CAREER receptions. He's not really a 3rd down back kind of guy if you're looking for receiving. I guess if you consider college, he did have some receptions, but that's a whole different game. I'd say McFadden is much more likely to play on 3rd downs.

Looks like McFadden judging by last weeks game. However tough to say since the coaches were ticked at Randle, as Randle is a decent pass catcher, no Dunbar but good nonetheless.

THe only place I see CM working in this offense is goal line for the immediate future, if he can find positive yardage

Speculation, of course. Random? Not really. I said I could see it happening and what is FF without speculation.

I'm generally dismissive of McFadden and am speculating on his chances of being hurt and/or ineffective both being very high. Randle offers more elusiveness and play making ability and I also speculate that while he's never had the opportunity to catch a lot of passes as a pro, he has the ability. This is from his draft profile:

Productive back in the running and passing game. Possesses enough straight-line speed to eat up yardage when open lanes present themselves. Shows once wiggle in his game once past the line, gets would-be tacklers to lean the wrong way. Seems to fall forward a lot, and is adding weight to his frame each season to get stronger. So yes, I could see them shifting Randle to more of a 3rd down/receiving role while utilizing Michael more in an early down role.

And anyone who says otherwise is foolish and guessing because they are just trying to help and nothing more.
