CJ Spiller injury thread (1 Viewer)

C.J. Spiller (shoulder) returned to practice on Thursday.

Spiller was seen working in individual drills and will likely be limited in team drills. The Bills website considered Spiller a "long shot" to play earlier in the day, so this could end up as a game-time decision. Despite soreness and swelling in his knee after Wednesday's practice, Fred Jackson is also working on Thursday. Jackson still seems like the better bet to suit up versus the Pats.

Today's practice session will include contact and hits. Stay tuned.

C.J. Spiller (shoulder) and Fred Jackson (knee) are practicing again on Friday.

Considering the type of injury, we fully expected Spiller to get a few reps in today after returning on Thursday. Barring the unexpected, Jackson will start Sunday versus the Pats. Spiller is headed toward a limited role even if he does suit up in a game-time decision.

Jackson, Spiller practicing for Bills yet again Friday

Orchard Park, NY (WGR 550) -- The status for the two-headed running back situation of the Buffalo Bills has yet to be determined for their game against the New England Patriots Sunday, but things seem to be trending up in Orchard Park.

Fred Jackson took part in his third straight practice on Friday after having missed two weeks of action with a knee injury. Head coach Chan Gailey told reporters on Thursday that barring any setbacks, the anticipated result is Jackson suiting up against the Patriots. The 31-year old has been limited through the first two practices.

Former first-round pick C.J. Spiller was also on the practice field on Friday, marking his second straight day of participation. Spiller suffered a shoulder injury in the first quarter of the Bills' last game in Cleveland, forcing him to miss Wednesday's practice in addition to the remainder of the Browns' contest.

There has yet to be any indication from Gailey over the past two days regarding whether or not Spiller will be able to play against New England. The head coach will unveil his official designations following the conclusion of Friday's practice. If neither can play, Tashard Choice will be the starting running back.

The lone non-participant of the practice session was once again wide receiver Ruvell Martin, who is still dealing with an ankle injury suffered on a punt late in the fourth quarter of the Kansas City Chiefs game.

The Bills and Patriots square off at Ralph Wilson Stadium on Sunday, September 30. Keep checking back to WGR Sports Radio 550 and WGR550.com for all the latest information!

What's this Wildcat stuff Coach talking about?

After participating in a second straight practice Friday, C.J. Spiller (shoulder) is listed as questionable to face the Patriots in Week 4.

The Buffalo News believes Spiller is "more questionable" than Fred Jackson. Coach Chan Gailey hinted that Spiller's role would be scaled back even if he does suit up. "It was great to get Spiller back because it keeps our Wildcat stuff alive, so that's good," said Gailey. Consider Spiller an iffy RB2/flex option at best this week.

Or they are getting different medical help than years before. Whatever they are having, I want some... :excited:

amazing that this is the same Bills team which usually has half the roster on IR by the bye week.
