CJ2K: You will lose if you don't draft me (1 Viewer)

Speaking at a fantasy football conference in Las Vegas, Chris Johnson advised fantasy players they will lose if they don't take him first overall in 2010.CJ2K has never lacked confidence, and his bravado seems far less eccentric after setting the NFL record for most yards from scrimmage (2,509) while adding 16 touchdowns last season. Without question, he's earned the right to go No. 1 this year.

I thought this was going to be a thread about Calvin Johnson... did Chris Johnson get bumped up from CJ3 to CJ2? Just trying to keep up with the nicknames.

Light. Blue. Jesus.

ETA: I had a guy in my 2009 redraft league that managed to miss the playoffs with Chris Johnson, Drew Brees, and Ray Rice. :lmao:

Drafting Chris Johnson just isn't going to win anyone anything if they man operating the rest of the team is a donkey.

The year was 2002. Marshall Faulk was the overwhleming consensus #1 overall draft pick in fantasy. I had the #1 overall pick and took a guy by the name of Ladanian Tomlinson instead of Faulk.

Everyone laughed at me and heckled me.

Guess who was laughing last when I won the league.

Don't see the comparison. Anything can happen but Faulk was 29 years old with shot knees. CJ is 24 with no injury history whatsover.

Solid logic.

This is the same guy who last year said he was now "Every coaches dream" and was going to run for 2000 yards. Looks to me like he hit those on the head. I couldn't care less if someone thinks he's a tool (I don't I just think is is confident), team chemistry has never been an issue on any of my fantasy teams.

I'll take that Blue Jesus every time..

"It's not arrogance when it's the truth".. besides I won't lose any points for that. Just fumbles.

Ask Mr. "All Day" Peterson about that little issue

Nice post.Look, I know the Titans trainer and a couple other people in the organization. CJ is not arrogant. He works out harder than anyone on the roster (including Bulluck, and that's saying a lot). He doesn't live the Thug Life and he scoffs at dopeheads and hangers-on that try to leech him. Chris Johnson is a great kid. Last year the Titans had a terminally-ill young boy (his Dad knows a coach, long story) visit a mini-camp workout. CJ posed for pictures, gave the kid a jersey, signed football, tour of locker room- everything. Then at 4:30 when guys were leaving, Chris took the kid inside to play Madden in the rec room. Chris told the Dad to go eat dinner, give them a couple hours. Alone. No witnesses or cameras allowed. He shooed the Channel 2 reporter away. They spent 2 hours alone, playing video games, laughing. At 7:00 he walked the boy out to his Dad. Then he went back to his locker to get his keys and stuff, sat down and cried for 5 minutes. Cocky, arrogant, whatever. A tool? I beg to differ. You just wait, Chris Johnson will defy critics with startling ease. And it will look easy because... it *wasn't* easy. He'll *earn* it. CJ2K is the Anti-Portis. His heart is too big.

Exactly. Jeez, the guy just amassed more yards from scrimmage than anyone who ever played in the NFL. He's a 24-year old kid having fun with the whole fantasy thing.

The numbering system is ridiculous
So is everything coming out of Chris Johnsons mouth. The guy is so easy to root against. He's a complete tool. And give it time... it's only gonna get worse.

Wait - question. Since ADP was dubbed "Purple Jesus" is Chris Johnson Jesus2 or JC2 or CJBJ2 or just CJBJ or CJ24BJ1??TIA.
CJ2K was the original Purple Jesus while in college. ADP is not ADP....its AD...which stands for All Day.

On another note....not related to the above poster...

If its so bad/annoying to write CJ2K and all the other nicknames, why dont you guys write out Football Guys in stead of FBG? Or what about IMHO....lets

stop that stuff also.

Writing 4 letters is much quicker than writing out someones entire name. We live in a texting world and cutting down letters is the way of the world...get used to it and stop complaining.

And please....no more TIA as well.

That's really nice (and I'm not being sarcastic when I say that), but it seems that practically every pro athlete has stories like this. Frankly, it's just the right thing to do. "CJ2K" is still a tool.

I don't think people say really speak like that (no one says, "IMHO"). These lame nicknames actually do get spoken. There's your difference, fella.I guess it's still better than people calling him "C-John," but athletes of today just have some completely lame, totally unoriginal nicknames.

Why, because you drafted Kevin Smith before him in your rookie draft?

No, because he's obnoxious.
