We were lucky to have 8 teams who were all relatively even. If others wanted in, we would have gone with different brackets.

I did a search on Reddit Clash Royale, and there were some rules there.  I don't know how they enforce the card/troop level caps.  Like, if you want to be in a tournament, you just stop leveling at 8?

Freeze - If used right, no can defense.

To help players get to the Tournament Rules more quickly, and considering that we're planning to increase the levels in the next update, we wanted to bring two cool new things at the same time!Firstly, we're going to DOUBLE the rewards inside every Crown Chest. This will make grinding out those Crowns and unlocking your daily Crown Chest even more worthwhile - twice as much, in fact!Secondly, we're revamping the card donation and request system so that it improves as you reach higher Arenas. For example, in the Royal Arena you'll be able to request 30 Common Cards or 3 Rare Cards at a time!All of the changes above are coming with the next update - current ETA is early next month.

I never felt that any opponent knew too much (maybe I'm naive). But I do feel like the matchmaking system finds the perfect opponent/deck to with the best shot of beating me & my selected deck.

Both may be the case.

Is there any incentive to attack when you can't win chests? I realize higher levels give better chests, but that doesn't seem like enough incentive to attack to play the game if my main objective is to increase my ranking.

higher leagues. so say you look at the chest order. you are currently full with 4 chests so you cant earn any. Your next chest order is a supermagical. So you climb to the next arena so that when a chest slot opens you can get that super magical in the higher arena

anyways the chests are predetermined and not random ( the order) so you can figure out what you are getting next

Loon lvl2 is the #### if you can get the rhythm down and deck right. I was using it with a fair amount of success but the hut spammers pushed me away from it. You need a bully force to attack one Crown Tower then launch loon + freeze at the second one. Or at least that's what I was doing with it.

All that said, I've gone away from loons on both accounts and have become a hut spammer. Killing it with barbs/spear chuckers

I am doing well with this deck. 

Knight - meat shield

Barbs - to use against the pekka, giant or golem

Minion Horde - air D or drop right after they play arrows 

Spear Chuckers - in literally every deck I have used in the last three months 

Cannon - cheap D

Mortar - use it on D or offence

Fireball - could also use Arrows

Rocket - been experimenting switching with Lightning

Easy to defend with this deck unless you are outmatched in levels. Use the Rocket wisely and you really only need to get one Mortar hitting the Tower to build up enough dmg for the win.

Drop a minion horde behind the ballon.  Seems to work for me.
