Hypothetical situation: The Packers go undefeated and the 49ers finish 13-3.

Who should win Coach of the Year?

Obviously, leading the 49ers to a 13-3 record is nothing short of a miracle. But can you NOT give the award to McCarthy after a 16-0 season?

Shula won it in 1972 and Belichick won it in 2007 after their perfect regular seasons, though granted, I have not researched who finished behind them.

What's your view?

I could not imagine McCarthy not winning the award if the Pack go undefeated. 13-3 is impressive from where the 9ers finished last year but Undefeated is historical. :banned:

Even if pack go 16-0, Harbaugh wins this award and I don't even think it is that close. A team projected to win about 13 games winning 16 games isn't as impressive as a team projected to win about 5 games winning 13. I think Harbaugh is a lock to win this award for what he has done given the team he was running.

I'd vote Harbaugh. No-one saw this coming. 16-0 is historical. But its also historical for some college coach to just walk into the NFL and dominate the league. Even Jimmy Johnson struggled his first few years in the league.
