That’s a way for a ministry to get people excited about Bible study. No lie. Considering that part of Public Enemy’s goal was to create a ministry by which to educate and liberate people, it’s appropriate. I believe Professor Griff was Minister of Defense or something.
When you think about how radical they were it gives you pause that what we remember sometimes is Flav’s influence on the duo.

Chatted with Flav for a minute or two, during a show they played at the student union at U of O in 1992. I stepped outside to get some air (I was sick) and he came out a side door from backstage. It was one of the songs where he didn’t have anything to do so he stepped out for a quick hit of…..something. He and I were the only people out there, other than a security guy watching from the door.
Other notable thing about that show was the band nobody had heard of that opened for PE - Rage Against the Machine.

I was interning at a college prof who lived in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn... c1990 +/-... Walking from the G train to my profs spot, not the greatest neighborhood. Saw a flava flav wanna be and another huge dude walking behind him approach me from the opposite direction.
"Excuse me my brother, Can you tell me where Pratt (pause) Is at?"
It was Flav, clocks and all, and a body guard. I loved that he paused briefly to make a rhyme. Like Andre the Giant.

I got a letter from the DMV the other day
