Colin Cowherd Reporting (1 Viewer)

If he knew and did not immediately report it to tOSU officials, it is a big deal. Heck, his contract says he could be fired for that. It wont happen as we have seen tOSU just pays lip service to being above normal schools with their integrity, but the contract does say it could.
Absolutely right. If it is true, it's a huge deal. The fact that it could cost him his job shows how important integrity is to the university.P.S. - it still pisses me off that this is all about something they did that was perfectly legal and gave them absolutely no on-field advantage, whatsoever.
I have paid virtually no attention to the actual transgressions, but why suspend them 5 games if it was all legit? Not debating the on-field part...
Legal in a real-world situation. Illegal only by NCAA rules. They traded memorabilia( that belonged to them) for discounted tatoos.
gotcha....I can't disagree, but also know they are playing by NCAA rules...rest be damned. Dumb? Yes, but what's new?

I couldn't find the more recent Colin Cowherd thread from last year...

Anyways, his show has become absolutely insufferable the last 4 months. It's just been non-stop sanctimonious outrage... from Ray Rice, to Tony Steward, back to Ray Rice, Roger Goodell, etc. The whole network has been prone to this for a few years, but I thought Cowherd had some measured reasonableness to situations. Apparently not. It's been particularly bad whenever he brings on a caller that disagrees with him and he proceeds to just shout all over the caller and completely ignore whenever the caller actually has a point. That's the stuff of bad shock jock local radio.

It would be nice to turn on a sports radio show and, oh I don't know, listen to people talking about actual sports.

Sirius NFL, NHL and NBA channels are about the actual sports for a majority of the time.

Yeah it's never changed.
I know a bunch of folks never liked him to begin with, but I think his show is/was actually pretty good when discussing actual sports. He also gets a-list reporters and analysts which most other shows don't get.

Does he still do that thing where he pretends his brain-dead audience is disagreeing with him?

"BUT COLIN......"

NOBODY I'd rather punch in the face.

I couldn't disagree more with that. He's a loud mouth blowhard who has the worst personality of anyone I've ever heard on the radio. Baffles my mind that anyone could find him remotely entertaining or informative, unless you're a little #####.

And yet he's still head and shoulders above Dan Patrick. Which is a sad, sad statement.

lol

I was listening yesterday for the first time in a long while and he kept going on about how U2 was giving away their album for free. Isn't Apple giving away the album for free? He wouldn't stop talking about it saying how business changes. It is a unique deal but U2 is being paid by Apple, they are not just handing out free copies of their new album to get more people to buy tickets to concerts that will be sold out anyway.

Why do you people listen to this stuff? Baffling to me. I can't even imagine listening to sports radio for 30 seconds.

They're just different. Cowherd can pull 4 hrs by himself, which is unusual these days. Patrick is a team guy, and his schtick is interesting and funny. I like them both

Colin and Stephen A are my top 2
I think you'd have enough arm strength to punch out all three...no need to limit yourself.

if he stuck to sports he wouldn't be so bad it's when he starts to act like Joe business man gets a little ridiculous. You just know he is such an #### kisser.

Skip Bayless and cowherd are the biggest turds in sports.

I actually like Cowherd. Granted I probably hear him 2-3 times a week for 20 minutes on my drive in but I find his show interesting. Why do you guys hate him so much? He always has a strong opinion and yeah, I get how being a know-it-all can be annoying but I appreciate a unique take on things whether I agree or not.

You are a bad person

I would pile on and say he's garbage but I honestly don't know as I think I've only heard him like 2-3 times. Ironically enough today was one of those days - he was babbling about how he's not a reporter like Jeremy Schapp or Ed Werder, etc. Then he started talking about stories he's broke. Guy sounded like a pompous ### and based on what everyone is saying I guess he is.

I have to agree with you. Colin talks about how his show is for the more educated, and he used to actually have some viewpoints and balls to take some stands that weren't the ESPN norm that gets shoveled down everyone's throat. He used to question the status quo and think a little outside the box. But you are right, he has changed over the last 6 months or so. In fact, I am a huge listener and up to about a year ago I remember he would kinda joke every once in a while about how the network would get upset when he would say or take certain views and how he has bosses too just like we do. ESPN is ABC/Disney, and they have a ton of power. I wouldn't be surprised one bit if the network told him to walk the line or they would phase him out. It's sad and I hope it's not true, maybe it's just his last few stands over the last few months but it's definitely been vanilla and toned down a couple notches.

Our local radio sports station switched from Cowherd to John Feinstein maybe 6 months or so ago. Feinstein is great. Cowherd is awful.

Not my favorite, but there is much worse out there. I'd rather listen to Cowherd on a never-ending loop than listen to one segment of Stephen A. Smith and Ryan Ruocco. The way Cowherd says "always" is cringe worthy though. ALLLWHIZZZ

I can't stand Marc Malusis on WFAN. "Let's go to Bayside. It's Bruce, it's the FAN." :X

Feinstein has made lots of enemies in the various sports establishments over the years. I like him a lot for that.

 Dude is unspeakably awful
How long have you listened to him though? Have you always thought he was as awful?
From day one. He's the worst kind of person to give a mic and a show to. He's a weasel with a mute button. Someone earlier in the thread used the term sanctimonious - perfect. Weasel is the only other word I can think of that would be a more dead-on descriptor.

I like Feinstein. He gets a little whiny for my taste but he's an extremely bright dude. I find myself half way through a segment about tennis or golf or one of his books and think to myself "why am I still interested in this?" Best sports radio going in my opinion is SVP and Rusillo. 80% sports/ 10% humor/ 5% pop culture / 5% dbag (nobody's perfect).

This morning Cowherd mounted a bizarre defense of Danny Ferry. "What if he said that Deng has a little EUROPEAN in him! Huh? What about THAT? See!"

I could see having some kind of feelings over the wing nut political radio hosts... but sports talk radio? Really?

I can't tell the difference.
One's a TV troll the other's a radio troll.
