I was'nt around to watch any games today and have not had time to see highlights. Did anyone see the game? Was Colston out there, was just playing decoy, was he limited at all.

I just cant belive he played the whole game didnt have one catch. I looked for other threads and didnt see any. Sorry if this has been discussed.

Yeah, didnt look good though. still has a splint on his hand and droped what normally would have been an easy catch for him. I think the Saints are rushing Colston and Shokey back too soon.

I have a chance to trade for Colston this week in my keeper league. I'll probably do it.

Do you expect Colston to return to his status as a No. 1 WR and top 10 WR?

he actually dropped 2 or 3 passes. Did not look like himself at all. But I'm sure he'll bounce back quick.

The past two weeks, Payton and Colston said he had no problems catching with the splint. Yesterday, he clearly couldn't grip the ball like normally and alluded to that after... You never know what to believe? I hope he can be fairly productine next week.. Then the bye, and then he should be near 100%-- I hope.

Colston said he didn't aggravate his surgically repaired thumb, but he admitted that he was out of sync after missing the past five games. He did not catch a pass, and he was removed from the lineup in the fourth quarter.

"I wasn't productive, so they pulled me from the game and got a guy in there that was able to make plays today," said Colston, who was critical of himself for two dropped passes. "Through the week I thought I was ready. In pregame I thought I was ready. Then I got out on the field and just wasn't able to make the plays that I normally make. Unfortunately, I ended up hurting the team in the process."

Perhaps next week in London against the Chargers porous defense will yield a different result?

Nice to see a guy take responsibilty for his own performance rather than blaming the rest of the team or QB.

He should be back in full form after the bye.

 That's what I was thinking, not your typical superstar WR reaction to a bad game, maybe some of his humbleness will rub off on Shockey, then again probably not!

yeah Brees was certainly looking in his direction. Just looked like Colston couldn't squeeze the ball to bring it in. He was sure giving it his all though.

I'm just glad he did not aggravate his injury. I expect him to have a few grabs next week, then be 100% after the bye and in time for fantasy playoffs.

Didn't see the game but according to NFL Gamebook, Colston was only targeted 4 times. Sounds like he's not all the way back yet?

Colston has always been a class act
Wasnt the reason he slipped to the 7th round of the draft due to attitude problems?

Maybe but I'm not starting him until I see some life. I don't have to see 150 yard and 2 td's, but I need to see 5 catches for 70 yards or something because starting a guy and getting zero catches out of him is ridiculous and embarassing.

Easily. Give the guy a break it s is first game back timimg was off.
Considering he wasn't ranked nearly that high by FBG last week (mid-20s) I don't see how you can say easily. And he only missed 5 games and played 2 years with Brees. So his timing shouldn't have been that far off.

I just hope he goes one more game without reinjury and gets to work during the bye getting into rhythm....I am counting on him getting back to normal for the 2nd half of the year.

And how long have Manning and Harrison played together?

Harrison is just plain getting old. Different situation altogether.

more that he went to a small school. Plus I think his coach dogged him to a few scouts over a personality disagreement IIRC. He also was originally being drafted as a TE.

:goodposting: I watched the game. The panthers had a great gameplan and Brees was getting pressured and throwing into coverages he misread all day. Plus with Bush going down they became more two-dimensional (as opposed to the third dimension he brings to their offense) and never looked in sync. He clearly didn't look comfortable in the splint, dropping (or having int'd) the few balls thrown his way.

i agree. it looked like he had oven mitts on. it is gonna be tough starting him until he proves he can catch the ball. tough to sit him knowing what he is capable of too.
