You used to give it away for free to forum members when you were first starting out.

Times have changed.
Or way better we can buy product from him as he's got a business to run.

Congrats on the good exposure. Probably won't help as much as the shoutouts in the Footballguys Daily Email Update ;)

I was a regular poster on a very small forum(livewire) with @Hot Sauce Guythat might have had 15 posters and went under many years ago.

I have not bought hot sauce from him for 2-3 years or so, but I was a purchaser when the store first started out. My post was meant as an inside joke, because he did used to give it away for free before he started his business. This was ~10-15 years ago though.

I've ordered a 4 pack of medium-to-mild. I can't do real hot, so this should be a good dipping-the-toe-in exercise for me.

Dumb question, @Hot Sauce Guy (or anyone else): should I refrigerate after opening?
Depends on the sauce, but most all hot sauces will last longer with refrigeration. Even Tabasco turns brown after a little while otherwise.

Thanks for your order!

@Hot Sauce Guy - I was poking around the site and was going to order some.  On my phone, but do these have a heat scale for sissies? About the hottest I get is something like Caribbean Jerk at B dubs.

Any steering in the right direction would be awesome, and congrats on the accolades!

Un-refrigerated until opened is fine, though? Or just throw 'em in? It's not like I don't have room. These will last me a while, so want them to keep the best way possible.

Thanks!

you could probably handle everything up to Year of the Dog. The extra sweetness from the pineapple balances the heat, so it’s very palatable. thanks for the interest!

After opening. They’re good for 2 years unopened, unrefrigerated. They’re shelf-stable.

Congrats bud!

A while back I tried (I don't know if you guys ever did) connect you with my buddy who was starting a company. He has been seeing great success. Has two sauces in Trade Joe's (TJ labeled) and his own brand is starting to make headway into grocery stores and even in L.A. area Costco's. He has three different sauces now, the original Jalapeno Sauce, a Tahini Sauce and an Aleppo Sauce. I am really happy for him. Just thought I would update you since I saw this.

Wishes for continued bigger and better success for you and Lucky Dog!

@Hot Sauce Guy

Sent a message on your site.

I placed an order but the site auto loaded an old, invalid cc number from a previous order. I don't see any way to change/update. Also included a question others here may be curious about. What happened to the Purple Label sauce?

Thanks for the discount code.

Thanks so much!

Not sure if your friend hit me up - I get a lot of requests from folks looking to start up. Since I’ve been there done that and learned through hard knocks, I always take the time to chat for a phone meeting.

so if he hit me up I’m sure we did - super happy for him regardless.. cracking TJ’s is bigtime. I’m not that bigtime. lol

Alas, the company I bought the hickory-smoked sea salt from had a warehouse issue & they lost all their stock.

they decided to stop making the hickory variety. :(

Just placed an order for 4 different kinds. This was the most excited my wife has ever been about my “online friends at Footballguys” so thank you for that!

I've tried hundreds of sauces over the years but Lucky Dog's "Year of the Dog" is my absolute favorite. i just ordered another 4 bottles a few minutes ago.

I may have gone overboard, but as my kids are also hot sauce fans I ended up ordering 8 bottles (1 each of 8 different types) and will do a tasting with my kids. @Hot Sauce Guy was also nice enough to rummage through his closet to find a couple t shirts that should fit my oversized self, so ordered those as well.

Hahaha - Stop that. they’re brand new shirts & were in storage totes.

The 11-color prints are stunning - you’re gonna love em & I hope you & the chil’rens love the sauces! Thanks again!

Not sure if I replied to this one - if you want specific sauces, just leave a note in a "dealer's choice" 4-pack and I'm happy to accommodate! The Thai Pineapple is the one that was on Hot Ones and won Grand Prize for tasting division at the 30th annual Scovie Awards.

:)

Well, I WAS planning to wait til this weekend and basically do a tasting with my kids - either with scrambled eggs or tortilla chips - most likely both.

But.... I had an extra piece of chicken I had made the other night - I always enjoy a little hot sauce on the leftovers, so I tried the Year of the Dog (Thai Chili Pineapple Sauce) on the chicken.

Damn this is good - starts off with a little sweetness initially and then the heat slowly hits you - nothing overwhelming, I can best describe it as a smooth heat that you can feel after the initial taste. Finished it up about 10 minutes ago, just a slight lingering burn on the lips. My youngest (9 year old) tried a bite and it got his approval, my wife, who is not a fan of spicy enjoyed it but it probably hit on the too spicy for her at the end, but not something she wouldn't have again. Unfortunately for my middle son (13 years old, my resident foodie), he was back online for school and the bite I had saved for him ended up in my stomach.

I am absolutely looking forward to trying the other types out, and if this first one is any indication, I am in for an awesome ride.

Got a four pack coming and HSG was nice enough to sub in a bottle of extra hot Hellhound. I won't have to share that one with my wife. I think this is my third time ordering and every bottle has been great!
