Well first off I AM an old man (turning 60 in a few weeks.)That’s wild to say there’s only been 1 truly great album in the last 35 years or to like music so much but then to cut yourself off from the last 35 years of it (whichever is the case for Tim).Unsurprisingly, tim had only one album post 1990.
The rest have a decent mix of old and "new" music.
But I don’t think I’ve cut myself off from the last 35 years. There’s plenty of great stuff out there. It’s just not AS good, IMO.
When I selected my 70 TV shows it was exactly the opposite: something like 95% of my picks were 21st century. That’s because I believe that we are currently living in the Golden Age of Television and that it began, generally, with The West Wing and the Sopranos. The golden age of popular music, IMO, was generally between 1968 and 1982. The golden age of paintings was between 1870 and 1945, roughly.
