I don't think there is any chance in hell they put Ramos back out there. Maddon did everything but announce that after the game yesterday. He didn't seem pleased.

Maddon saying Ramos looked "uncomfortable" is about the most negative thing I've heard from him about any player.

Joe had Gomes warming up on the fourth batter of the game. Apparently Ramos was pretty hot about all of this after the game.

Something like 27% but that was pretty well addressed by all the local media/blogs after the trade.

I think he'll be a good player but he's having a sophomore slump for sure. He was pretty good last year.

I'm not sure there is any saving this year's team though.

They haven't been all that good at hitting for years, and Zobrist was having a tough time and Myers is going through what a lot of young hitters go through. I saw Matt Joyce leading off the other night, they are scuffling. Fortunately for them the AL East pretty much stinks, they are far from having to write off the season.

We don't have to really look at ERA anymore, Harold Reynolds. There are better ways to evaluate these guys. This isn't 1975.

the guy went through 7 innings almost perfect after that.

the first inning included an infield single, a hbp, a walk, a sac fly and a very inopportune home run.

Of course that all counts, but the guy is still pitching great overall.

Been my favorite Rays prospect since they brought him over from Chicago. Have always thought he was undervalued in prospect circles.

So, early in the game last night, fans are getting on Myers a little bit. He's holding his hand to his ear, gives them the thumbs up, waves a couple times, generally being a pretty good sport about things. Before the start of the 2nd inning, he finishes his warmup throws with the ball boy, has the ball in his hand, points at one of the guys in the right field bleachers that the ball is coming to him, winds up, fakes the throw and tosses it back to the ballboy, fan is not impressed.

I'm sitting on the 1B line, row 1 almost to the outfield, fans in my area have started getting on him as well. As he takes the field for the third, he comes right over to where we're sitting, about 6 seats to the left of me (where yappers are) and tells them, if you're going chirp me all night long, you have to at least be funny, it's been pretty weak so far.

There was a bit more back and forth as the game went on, but it was nice to see a guy so obviously having fun playing baseball. He wasn't being a jerk, he gets that he's there to entertain, plus he's a pretty great player, despite what this year's numbers say.
