New Basics - Rosso & Lukins (first paperback copy got worn out and broke in two, now have a hard cover)

365 Great Barbecue & Grilling Recipes - Gandara

No cookbook recommendation from me.

Got two knife wounds on my left hand today - one when chopping parsley and another while carving grapefruit sections.

I usually search YouTube. The cooks who make the videoes include good tips and hints not always found in cookbooks. There are always a few versions but I tend to choose the higher rated one that is not over-complicated.

I like doing food from scratch the old fashioned way, and therefore like Nourishing Traditions, as far as cookbooks go.

But the book I use most often for cooking, by far, is The Flavor Bible. It is not a book of recipes. It is a book that helps you create your own recipes.

My personal favorite youtube cooking show

Barefoot Contessa is the one my wife and I use a lot. Easy recipes, don't require a ton of crazy ingredients. Always tasty.

I agree with the Barefoot Contessa. Not overly complicated, and great tasting food. I made her provencale leg of lamb for a dinner party a few weeks ago and it kicked ###.

Other favorites are her Mac and cheese (Gruyere w cheddar, cavatappi, nutmeg) dill potato salad, baked ham, and barbecue sauce.
