Cowboys @ Giants -- Prediction Thread (1 Viewer)

Raider Nation

Devil's Advocate
Let's see...

Coughlin vs. Garrett - HUGE coaching mismatch in favor of NYG

Manning vs. Romo - HUGE (big game) quarterback mismatch in favor of NYG

Giants also have home field advantage.

It all adds up to a 31-13 Giants win.

Another pile on the Cowboys thread, eh? Both teams have had their issues this season but it just seems that the Cowboys are ill equiped to win a big game. The talent is there and maybe a road game will help them focus. But I don't see it. The culture of the team and it's ownership is too flawed.

Giants 24 Cowboys 20 in a poorly played game.

I think Romo gets a bit of a bad rap, he's a very good QB. That said, the Giants D finally woke up a bit last week (2nd half of the game at least). If that continues into this week, I think the Giants have a great shot at winning. But this is a really close matchup.

Giants 31

Dallas 24

This game will be close only cause neither team knows how to finish. My guess is whoever is leading going into the 4th will lose the game. Dallas had a 12 point lead with less then 6 minutes last game they played only 3 weeks ago and lost.

If Romo's hand hinders his accuracy at all Dallas has little chance. It is all on Romo as it always is. Damn U D.Murray.

Any prediction will be a big guess cause this is a 50/50 game if there ever was one.

GO COWBOYS!

I'm a Cowboys' fan, but this team crumbles under any pressure. No different than the team a couple of years ago that got blown out against the Eagles. I expect something similar. The Giants will come in motivated, go ahead by a couple of scores, and the Cowboys will give up.

Giants 31-21 with Romo throwing a pick-6 at the end of the game after driving Dallas into Giant territory. If my crystal ball is correct, Dallas will have the ball on the Giant's 32 yard line with 31 seconds remaining and he'll throw an out pattern that will be returned by Webster for the TD.

I hate both teams with a passion. But i'll take the GIants because I hate the Cowboys probably .0001% more than the Gnats.

When do they typically put out the inactive list for the night game?

Makes a big difference if playmakers like Jake Ballard don't suit up.

Cowboys in a very close match.

I think Dallas drives for the game winning FG by Bailey with time running out.

NYG's do not block this one!

Cowboys 30-28

there will be two defensive scores in this game.

Both for the Giants.

Causing them to win.

Dallas will lose, but be up 12 with 4 min to go. Romo will fumble late in the game to give the NYG an extra possession.

Keep going back and forth on this one.

If Dallas had Murray I think this would be close and Dallas pulls it out.

I don't think Rob Ryan has had a great year but I don't know that Dallas has great defensive talent outside of a few notable players.

Eli has won big games and NY can pressure the qb.

I'll bite

NYG 23 Dallas 20 - Dallas missing a late fg to tie.

Cowboys winning record (barely) was created primarily against losing teams.

They have only beaten 1 team with a winning record, and their wins came against a combined record of 46-74...

- Giants D is playing strong

- Dallas has a penchant for crumbling under pressure/in clutch situations

- Injuries to key players on Dallas offense (Tony 'oh-no' Romo - Throwing Hand, Demarco Murray IR)...

- Giants playing at home in playoff atmosphere

Giants 31 Dallas 17

Expecting multiple Turnovers for Dallas Offense/Giants Defense

Jason Pierre Paul spears Tony Romo causing a riot to break out. Goodell bans both teams from post season play - and to make it even more painful he awards the final playoff spot to the St Louis Rams (just to make a point)...who overcome all odds and go on to win the Super Bowl in a stunning defeat of the Houston Texans.

This sounds like the best prediction of all. It seems a most people think Dallas will lose because of Romo. Like I said this post was the best and most likely prediction in this thread.

The Cowboys remind me a bit of the Giants team that won the Superbowl a couple years ago. Before I am completely roasted, I do not think the Cowboys are Super Bowl bound.

I predict Dallas wins 34-31.

Dallas beats the Lions.

Dallas loses to the Saints.

Romo starts to change some incorrect perceptions of him.

In order to do this, Romo would have to break his personal playoff record of 0 wins... That'll be tough...

I guess you are predicting a SF loss cause this week. Cause they are the two seed right now. Other then that the Saints will be playing in Wild Card weekend vs the Falcons and if they win they will go to the 49ers and the winner of the Det VS dall/ny game will go to GB AND GET WAXED.

I like reading your posts about the Cowboys. I'm interested in reading about what similarities you see between this and the Giants team.

They both wear helmets?

Thanks. Both teams had reasonably high hopes going into the year in question.

Both lost games in weird and wild ways.

Both have QB's with perception problems. These 2 QBs are either heaven or hell.

Both teams were talented yet written off by the masses. *IF* Dallas got hot and their defense improved they would be a dangerous team to play against.

Both relied heavily on passing the ball.

It just reminds me of the game where the Giants went into Dallas and beat the favorite Cowboys when everyone had written them off.

One last thing on Romo, I get that the average fan doesn't watch the Cowboys as much as I do and rely on "highlights" and what the media yaps about. I will also say that I have also been critical of Romo at times. Now having said all that, Romo is playing the BEST I have ever seen.

-His INT's are way down.

-Is playing behind an atrocious O-line aside from Smith and Kosier.

-His 4th Q passer rating is out of this world.

My favorite thing after the last Giants game was listening to the morons on NBC saying again that Romo couldn't win the big game. He threw 4 TD's, his team put up 30+ points and no turnovers. Yet it was Romo and not our putrid defense taking the heat. Talking negatively about Dallas helps ratings and sell trucks and viagara.

I hardly see the Giants as world beaters. This game will come down to wire, be close and be an entertaining game.

oof... Excuse me... His playoff record is 1-4... Still a turd....

This is typically the type of game the Cowboys lose.

This is typically the type of game the Giants lose.

I love how everyone always blames things on Romo and rarely on the defense. The defense is the most over rated unit in history lead by their over rated coach, Rob Ryan. Terence Newman should get 90% of the blame from the Giants game. Newman sucks.

I'll take the Cowboys 31-24

This game is as close to a coin flip as can be.

If I had to predict a winner I would say the Giants because they are at home, but as has already been pointed out they have not played well at home.

This game has the makings of a great if not epic game. There are so many story lines in this game and the ratings will be great.

I say the Giants will be up 34 to 24 late and Romo gets a garbage Td with a minute left to pad the stats while the Giants are in prevent defence. The on side kick fails and the end score is 34 to 31 for the Giants.
