Crazy Video of Bikers vs SUV (1 Viewer)

To be fair, this wasn't the guy doing the brake checking and we don't know if he had any interaction with the RR driver. Sure he gets IQ points deducted for hanging with the wrong "crowd", but some of the comments are over the top.

I am a biker. Watching this video and some of the others posted make me sick. I don't know any bikers that would defend this group's actions, but that has more to do with the choices I make about who I ride with.

I am growing to hate bikers more and more.

I used to hate truckers until I started driving 800 miles + a week for a sales job. I learned road courtesy from truckers over time. and it simply involves respect for the other driver. Sure there are some rogues, but a majority are respectful.

Over the years, I can't say that I extend my respect to cycles. Sure there are the GoldWings and Harley riders that have respect, but by far loud bikers, crotch rocket showoffs, and groups of SQUIDs have little to no respect.

A nice, wet cornhole bean bag in the front spokes should do the trick.
Come on now. I find bikers to be annoying - they lane split, they come up on you at 100mph and get pissed when you almost cut them off because you didn't see them... But it's pretty much on the same level as other idiot drivers.

This thing that happened is on a completely different level.

I just heard the wife of the biker who is in the hospital give an interview. She said the SUV driver was profiling blacks and Latinos like they always do.

I guess when you have nothing else to blame...

I always profile blacks and latinos that are beating the #### out of my car with their helmets and slashing my tires.

Nowhere near idiot drivers.

Idiot drivers are unaware, SQUIDs on crotch rockets don't care.

It's like that time those three girls in Cleveland profiled that Hispanic guy that kidnapped them.

I would have been on 911 the whole time, and if any of them came try to close in on me I'm swerving right into them. Get in front of me and slow down/stop? I'm not stopping. Range Rover vs. motorcycle isn't close.

So they slashed his tires before he ran over the guy? And he was fleeing while riding on his rims the whole time? Jeez.

Why are supporters of the bikers (paricularly family members) saying the SUV should have just stopped and nothing would have escalated? These crazy bikers already escalated it.

Maybe if his tires weren't slashed there wouldn't have been as much force on the guys legs and spine when he was run over.

Best news of the day.
It's a nice clean break in that the guy that's paralyzed was the one that started it. Had he flattened someone that stopped after the initial altercation this would be alot more complex perhaps.

His wife is a smoke show btw.

There are some other pics that don't look this good:

I don't think so, but if he was driving like they do in China, I can see how the scooter riders might have had a beef with him.

ETA: Over there, right of way goes to the biggest vehicle. Trucks > Busses > Cars > Motorcycles > Bicycles > pedestrians. So it's entirely conceivable the driver was thinking, "hey... I had the right of way, I'm in a SUV and these ####### are on scoots."

I like to run a few miles a day.

Would even be cool to run with a few friends around the neighborhood.

But if one day, I meet up with 200 friends and have an impromptu marathon disobeying all traffic laws, me and my 199 friends are just dooshes asking for trouble.

I don't think so. The guy who brake checked was arrested, along with some other guy. I'm not sure what the paralyzed guy was doing, and he may well have contributed to the confrontation in some way, but I don't see that in the article.

On the one hand, it's a shame that the guy who was hurt wasn't really the one causing problems directly. On the other hand, if you don't want to end up in a bad spot then don't put yourself in bad situations. Just another thug that wanted to ride around like the Sons of Anarchy but can't deal with the notion that, in real life, the VP's girlfriend can't just stitch you up and have you back to full health in 3 episodes.

After seeing the guy in the coma, the only way that would make this outcome better would be for his parents to get a call saying their son wasn't going to make it and they needed to come down to the hospital. As they are walking to the hospital, not able to hold back their tears for losing their son, Mr. Lien's SUV backs up over them and runs them over, leaving them paralyzed from the waist down and in comas.

He shouldn't of stopped in front of the guy then. He must of been one of the guys blocking the RR if he got ran over. Blocking a guy in while your gang confronts him makes you just as guilty as the guys who got off their bikes and approached the vehicle.

I'm not following this like some are, and I am definitely inclined to say the SUV driver was justified in his actions.

However, one big question I've got has to do with the tire slashing....if they were slashed at the first stoppage, why do we see no sparks at all throughout the video? Or am I missing something? They also don't appear to be flat at the end of the video.

So on my drive in, I was listening to Elliot in the Morning, a DC-area morning show. I live in NJ, but stream the show because I've listened since I lived back in the DC area. Anyway, they had a caller who went by the name of "Brooklyn Joe," or something to that effect (not sure if it was Joe or not). Anyway, he claims that the guy who shot the footage was a good friend of his. He said that there was "major" parts of the story not being told. I'm just repeating what he said...

1) Lien was merging onto the highway, and he "sideswiped" a biker. Brooklyn Joe noted that it wasn't "sideswiped" as in hit, which is what I've ALWAYS taken that to mean, but rather that he drove really close to them. He then said that the bikers were trying to get Lien "to pull over to the right lane so they could go by." He said that he didn't condone the acts of the guy who brake-checked him, and he was dumb for doing that.

2) He said that in principle, bikers will all come to a stop and come to the aid of a rider riding with them who has fallen down. He said that was why they ALL stopped in the middle of the highway.

3) He said that when Lien freaked out, it was because everybody was yelling at him to back his car up because it was sitting ON the one guy's leg. They were just telling him to back up. Nobody was violent.

4) Nobody slashed his tires. There's no way an SUV could drive that far with slashed tires.

So...take it for what it's worth, but I think it's all full of crap. He probably came close when merging because these guys were all over the road. I'm not sure why they'd be trying to get him to merge to the right so they could pass when it was a 3-lane road. He also clearly couldn't really change lanes at all because he had bikes on both sides as shown here. I guess maybe they were all yelling at him to back up, but I think it's pretty clear that when you have 50 guys on bikes surrounding you after driving like that, you might be a little on edge. I also don't necessarily buy that he was parked on the guy's leg when he came to a stop. The tires thing should be easy enough to figure out...either they were slashed or they weren't.

I'll end by saying Brooklyn Joe did say that he thought Lien "got what he deserved," so I think that's enough to discredit it all anyway. It just shows the mentality even more clearly. i.e. "This is our road, and if we want you to move over, you move over."

I would guess they were run-flat tires, but I agree, it's something I want to see better footage of. Those Range Rover Sports have pretty low-profile tires, so even when they're flat, it might be hard to tell.

Its a range rover. Basically a tank.

Exactly. That dude didn't know how to use it. He should have ran over more #### just for fun.

I am not buying that at all, based on what I have seen reported - which is one rider who was injured with broken legs, spine, in a coma, etc.

All of the evidence presented by Eazy Measee's family is that he was not the brake checker - which the video seems to support. So the only way he gets run over, is if he hops off his bike and gets in front of the Range Rover. And if he is the only one injured, then the original idiot was not injured (and in fact I think he has been arrested), and thus the Range Rover was not sitting on anyone's leg when everyone was bum rushing the car.

Maybe, maybe not, we really don't know. He could have been helping to pickup the bike that was down from the original bump.

I guess I'm not real comfortable cheering the paralysis of someone if we don't know their level of involvement.

If we knew he was one of the helmet-smasher guys, then by all means, charge admissions so the public can come by an ear #### him.

Given some of the other videos of the "Hollywood Stuntz" (like the previously mentioned one where they stop a prius and reach inside and start throwing punches because he had the audacity to drive through a green light and almost hit a couple bikers who were speeding down the wrong side of the road through a red light) Brooklyn Joe's story seems rather suspect.

What was Elliot's take since he is a rider?I don't believe a word Joe Brooklyn said. If they were so peaceful and level minded, why were there 200 complaints earlier in the day about them?

Also, I'm curious if the guy who posted the video is getting any blowback from the other riders.

Understanding it wasn't you that was saying this, but looking over the video again, definitely wasn't the case.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wNOyDMzn2bY

The guy he hit never went down, much less under the SUV.

Looking at the video:

19 seconds - biker who was bumped on the side looking at the SUV

24 seconds - biker pulls in front of SUV

26 seconds - biker applies breaks and looks back at SUV (with only right hand on bike, left hand was on his waist as he looked back)

27 seconds - bike and SUV appear to touch as individual recording turns straight ahead

29 seconds - individual filming turns back around and biker who was bumped is now riding a bike length in front of SUV

35 seconds - everyone has now stopped and some bikers have gotten off their bikes and approached SUV

45 seconds - you can see one of the bikers pulling back on something as if trying to open the SUV door

48 seconds - biker who made the pulling motion can be seeing leaning into the direction of the SUV

50 seconds - SUV starts to take off

Once the SUV takes off, there is a second or two when none of the bikers really know what to do, except for the guy filming who immediately takes off after him. Almost like "WTF? Somebody didn't completely obey us and accept our taunting."

Exactly. All the you tube videos are dark, hollywood stuntz blog is gone...wiping away evidence.

Can we stop calling them bikers...Crotchers maybe? I'm a 35 year old on a 900 pound Harley that feels twice as visible as most of these electric and "Smart" type cars these days. Hopefully people don't see the Gold Wing and touring bikes in the same fashion as these crotch rocket and muscle bikes. How often does a big touring bike sneak up you 30mph faster than the speed limit or fly by you between lanes or on the side of the road?

" But it's pretty much on the same level as other idiot drivers. "

This is the truth, I've only been riding for 2 years and had no idea how bad drivers wereas a whole (auto or bike) until I got on a bike and realized my life depends on those around me as much as it does on my own riding skills. I'm someone that tends to always be going with the traffic in the passing lane or doing 3-5 MPH faster than regular traffic, and I'd say 1 in 5 people I go by are doing something on their phone. Texting while driving in this world has got to stop and little by little drivers as a whole are getting worse and worse when it comes to road rage.

I've got no sympathy for the guy in the coma, he was part of this mob who was out "enjoying a last ride of the season" by acting like they owned the streets and putting everyone's life that they came in contact with in danger. These are not bikers, bikers enjoy the road and their surroundings and respect the power and danger of the bike...these are d-bags trying to act cool and tough and I hope NYC confiscates any bikes they find and suspends their licenses for at least 2 years with 2 years in prison if they're caught riding during that time.

I feel warm and fuzzy inside every time I see that dude laying in the hospital with tubes in him. I really hope he lives. Otherwise he'll never get to fully enjoy being a paraplegic. That would make Sheik sad. :(

The bikers who beat and slashed a motorist in front of his wife and daughter were at first trying to slow the man down so they could take control of the highway, police have said.

Sources claim the motorcyclists had already blocked off some of the West Side Highway's entrances to stop other vehicles from joining the road near West 125th Street.

It was then that driver Alexian Lien panicked, hitting the bike in front with his Range Rover and sparking the videotaped chase on Sunday that led to his beating.

A police source told the New York Post the bikers 'just wanted this guy to slow down so they could have the whole highway to themselves' to do motorcycle tricks.

That's all they wanted? Well, hell. I say death penalty for the SUV driver then.
