Creative RB ideas for the playoffs (1 Viewer)

Stormed through the Regular Season with RB as a strength all year.

Lost Fred Jackson. Lost Adrian Peterson, return is questionable. Lost Forte this weekend.

Now limping into playoffs wondering where to turn.

Looking for creative RB ideas. What backup has a chance to shine while strong teams pull carries from staters? What unknown gets his late season shot on a team thats out of it looking to test theories for their 2012 roster? No idea is too looney to throw out there. Lets hear 'em!

Joe McKnight

Brandon Saine/John Kuhn

Kendall Hunter

Jaquizz Rogers

LaRod Stephens-Howling

Issac Redman/Mewelde Moore

Lance Ball

Montario Hardesty/Chris Ogbanaya

Kahlil Bell

Danny Ware

:confused:These guys aren't even on the same team? Weird :fishing: here. I don't understand what you're asking for. What team do you represent, and what's the impact on your salary cap?

I'll just throw some names out there with favorable schedules who have the potential to spike...

- Brandon Saine (Green Bay)

- Mossis Madu (Tampa Bay)

- Keiland Williams (Detroit)

- Jacquizz Rodgers (Atlanta)

- Ricky Williams (Baltimore)

- Kahlil Bell (Chicago) * not so favorable sched; can't ignore the opportunity *

- Joe McKnight (NY Jets) * only if Greene is injured *

- Lance Ball (Denver) * only if McGahee is injured *

They were all on my redraft team (no salary keep, no keeper considerations) I represent no one except my own selfish self-interest in trying to find a way to navigate through my fantasy playoffs with nothing on my RB bench except hopefuls, has beens and hurt guys.

So you're asking how to manage a pretend team or something?

Without injury, there just isn't going to be a guy at this point that isn't already rostered. I assume the trade deadline has passed. I can't believe someone with Peterson doesn't have Gerhart rostered. Same with Forte and Barber. If you didn't handcuff your guys before the trade deadline, you're likely screwed. Ricky Williams might have a shot at picking up a TD, if not rostered by the Rice owner. Houston has easy weeks 15 and 16, so Tate is an option if not rostered by the Foster owner. These options would assume that the other owners in your league were also not thinking ahead. You're likely screwed unless your league has very small rosters.

I posted this somewhere else without knowing there was already a thread. So here is my two cents.

Flame me if there is already a topic, I didn't see it. Two guys that are jumping out at me as RB's that could get you past week 14. Marcel Reece: Danarious Moore and Ford both still out as well as McFadden. According to Hue Jackson the game plan last week was to use a lot of Reece but the stout Dolphins actually game planned for him and shut him out. I don't think the Packers weak defense will be able to do the same. The Raiders use Reece all over the field including out wide. Also Chaz Schilens will also be out so really look for Reece to be used a lot. In PPR he should really be gold.

The other guy is Ricky Williams. Last weeks line vs. Browns: 16 for 76 and 1 TD. Ravens finally going run heavy this year. They are playing the COLTS in what should be a blow out. I look for Ricky to get approx. 15 carries and a good chance for another TD.

As a token throw in, QB play would be The Gross Man. He will be throwing against the NE Patriots who have made every opposing QB this year look like a shoe-in for the Pro Bowl. I will be playing him over Vick and Rothlisberger. Reece or Ricky (I am still trying to decide) will play over Hillis and Kevin Smith. Good luck this week. Feel free to add anyone else on that you like.

Also, if in a pinch at WR, maybe Brad Smith of Buffalo against the Chargers. He is playing opposite Stevie Johnson out wide and he has really impressed me the last two weeks as the starter.

I have both Gerhart and Barber rostered. I was looking for creative ideas. I didn't consider these uninspiring handcuffs as creative ideas, so I didn't bother mentioning them.

Good post. :goodposting: I had considered Reece, and this will make me give him a 2nd look. Ricky is already rostered in this league.

Or you could just say thank you to folks that took time out to help you.

With all the people pimping Ricky, I'm wondering if I should start both Rice and Williams.... :coffee:
Williams had 76 yards and a TD last week v. Cleveland and the same could happen v. Indi. Definitely a legit option depending what else you have. Caveat: Indi is weak on pass defense as well as run so Baltimore could spread out touches more than they did against Cleveland.

oh... and you're that guy... the one that nobody in the shark pool likes?

My sympathies.

Marion Barber - 60+% of the carries for next couple weeks

Marcel Reece - receiving threat

Brandon Saine - Starks gimpy, Saine able to play all three downs, could see most/all of third down duties

Ricky Williams - IND, could get a decent number of carries

Felix Jones - if he was dropped. Cowboys have a nice schedule.

Isaac Redman - good schedule, could see more carries like Ricky

Kahlil Bell - should get some touches with Forte out, if Barber goes down, wah-lah!

Montell Owens - surpassed Karim last week as MJD's backup

elbowrm, footballnerd, ScottyDog, Bob Henry all get a thanks. Hoosier16 gets a lump of coal.

C.J. Spiller looks like he could be money over the next 3 weeks with @SD, MIA, and DEN. Fred Jackson owners who were lucky enough to back him up should be looking good.

If you already have Gehart and Barber rostered, then I don't think Ricky W. or Marcel Reese are upgrades over those guys. I would just roll with what you have unless Peterson returns this week. If Gerhart goes back to the bench, then Reese is probably the best WW pickup in PPR scoring.

Baltimore plays Cleveland again Week 16. I wouldn't be surprised if that was the game plan again.

Pissy about having no more fantasy games to play this year?

I'm keeping Kevin Smith in my hip pocket. If he sits out a week and if I should be so lucky as to move on if he starts I am starting him I think. The guy is a points machine.

LOL, fair enough.Turning the question to WRs: If D-Moore and Jacoby Ford get healthy they could be good flex plays if they're available.
