The team website says a NEW '09 Depth chart won't be posted until Training Camp starts in July. Right now they only show positional listings by alphabetical order (he's one of five guys currently listed as DE). The switch to a 3-4 is more of an important issue for him IMO(rather he adapts to the new DC's scheme or not)....He "should" be healed from the injury (torn pec) by now.
I just took over a team in a 32 teamer and started reading up on this guy. How come he's not on the GB depth chart if he had such a promising start last year before getting injured? Thanks.
Went on IR. He is one of the reasons the defense struggled last year. There is a conversion to the 3-4 this year. Remember though 3-4 defensive ends are there to eat blockers and the LB'ers benefit. I like Jenkins though. They rotate him from end to tackle so he stays on the field.
Thanks fellas. I'm also new to IDP and am just realizing the significance of guys' team changing D alignments is really hitting home. Must drive you guys nuts more than Offenses changing.

Most of us veteran IDPers love this time of the season. It can be rough on dynasty rosters at times, but following and learning about the defensive trends are a big part of the fun of the offseason. Here's a thread from earlier in the offseason dedicated to the offseason coaching and defensive philosophy changes if you missed it.
Cullen Jenkins is a great defensive lineman. In the 4-3 he played inside early in his career but over the past few seasons he shifted to more of an end that would only shift inside in obvious passing situations. His loss had a deep effect on the Packers defense last year but he should be 100% for next season (torn pec is good but he also had ankle surgery this offseason and he'll miss some offseason workouts).
That mix of skills (big man that can hold the point, yet has enough quickness to end rush) makes him a perfect fit at DE in the Packers new 3-4 scheme. It's difficult to project a 3-4 DE will be an IDP monster but Jenkins may be worth a look until the performances of the Packers defenders shake out a bit. Also, give him a bit of a bump up if the Packers land DT B.J. Raji @ 1.09 in April. In the end I suspect he'll be nothing more than a backup DL in IDP leagues but he's worthy of a roster spot because he'll stay on the field as much as his health/stamina will allow.
The real question is how does the new defensive philosophy change the way the CBs play. The Packers defense owes quite a bit to the aggressive press coverage they get from Woodson and Harris. Regardless of how the front 7 is aligned, not playing to the CBs strengths would be a big mistake in this case.
